1 Warm-Up: Spot the Mistake – Listening & Correction

1️⃣

"To start, I’m going to say four sentences, but each one has a mistake. Listen carefully and
tell me what’s wrong. Then, I’ll ask you to correct it."

📌 Sentences:

1. ❌ Last weekend I have went to the cinema.


✅ Last weekend, I went to the cinema.
2. ❌ The news are very interesting today.
✅ The news is very interesting today.
3. ❌ If I will have time, I meet you later.
✅ If I have time, I will meet you later.
4. ❌ Many people prefer coffee instead tea.
✅ Many people prefer coffee instead of tea.

Your Turn:
"Now, I want you to make one incorrect sentence for me to correct!"

2️⃣Speaking Task: Spot & Fix Mistakes

"Now, I’ll give you two IELTS Speaking Part 2 responses, but they have mistakes. Your task
is to read the response, find the mistakes, and correct them."

📌 Response 1 (Before Correction):


"One of my favorite places is the park near my house. I go there since five years ago. The
atmosphere is very relax and there is a lots of trees. Sometimes, I enjoying to read book
there."

❓ What mistakes do you see? Try to correct them!

✅ Corrected Version:
"One of my favorite places is the park near my house. I have been going there for five years.
The atmosphere is very relaxing, and there are a lot of trees. Sometimes, I enjoy reading a
book there."

📌 Response 2 (Before Correction):


"I want talk about my best friend. She is very kind and always help me. We meet us in
university three years ago and we are friends since. She gives me advices when I need."

"Now, let’s focus on writing. Below is a short IELTS Task 2 response with multiple
mistakes. Your job is to find them and rewrite the response correctly."

📌 Example (Before Correction):


"In today world, technology is very important. People spend too much times on their phones,
and this is affect their social skills. However, some people thinking that technology make life
more easier. For example, now we can shop online and talk with family who lives far away. I
belief that technology is good, but we should use it careful."

❓ Your Task:
➡️Identify at least 5 mistakes.
➡️Rewrite the response with corrections.
➡️Explain why you made those corrections.

✅ Corrected Version:
