A Detailed Lesson Plan for demo teaching

This lesson plan for Grade 8 focuses on teaching students the principles and steps of creating isometric drawings in technical drafting. Students will engage in activities that include drawing simple isometric designs, understanding their importance in real-world applications, and practicing conversion of 2D objects into isometric views. The lesson concludes with an evaluation task where students replicate a complex 3D isometric model.

A Detailed Lesson Plan

Grade 8 – TLE Exploratory

Subject: Technical Drafting
Topic: Drawing Isometric Design (3D Design)

I. Objectives
At the end of the 50-minute lesson, the students should be able to:
 Identify the principles and basic steps in creating isometric drawings.
 Demonstrate the ability to draw simple isometric designs using appropriate tools.
 Appreciate the importance of isometric drawings in technical drafting and real-world
applications.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Drawing Isometric Design (3D Design)
Concept: Isometric drawings are 3D representations on 2D surfaces using 30-degree
angles.
Reference: MELCs for TLE Exploratory, Technical Drafting Module
Materials: Drawing paper, pencils, ruler, eraser, projector

2. Checking of Attendance May I ask the class secretary There are no absentees today,

3. Review of Previous Lesson Okay! Before, we start on our

discussion, who can recall and

E. Practice Exercise Show a copy of 2D objects for
students to convert into
isometric views.

IV. Evaluation Show a moderately complex
3D isometric model (e.g., a
simple house or layered box)
on the board or projector.

Task: Students will replicate

the design using correct angles
and dimensions.

Criteria: Accuracy,
proportion, and use of
isometric technique.
V. Assignment Research five real-life
examples of isometric
drawings and create a simple
isometric drawing of a
household item.
