Roberta: Well, it was around 2017 when I first got involved with the SAP community.
At that time, we were doing an update on SAP HANA while I was finishing a project at Old Groups Dispatched 1

Caixa in Brasília. Marcel, who conducted our training, was a huge advocate for the payment 1 Payment Card 1
SAP Community. He was always organizing events and really was an influential figure

within the SAP space. Back then, not just anyone could organize events; it was

Marcel saw potential in me. He approached me and said, "Roberta, I think you should RISE with SAP 1

I continued my involvement in 2018 and 2019, even taking part in events hosted in
SAP BTP COCKPIT 1
Rio and Campinas. In 2018, for instance, I was at the entrance of an SAP event in
São Paulo, managing the reception. From there, I developed a real passion for these SAP BTP Generative AI 1

gatherings. What I truly enjoy is seeing people come together with a desire to learn. SAP CC Installation 1

Roberta: I think it's seeing the expressions on people's faces when they are

carry that knowledge with them, you know? I find it incredible because, sometimes,

accountant and had experience with different ERPs. I worked at Fox, which had an

SAP, sparking my curiosity. I started exploring companies that used this system. Tcodes 1

I joined Kaeser Kompressor, a German company, to serve as an interface between

Brazil and Germany. Initially, I worked as a user, learning processes like, invoice
entry, and accounting. Back then, Brazil hadn’t fully localized the software yet. This
gap prompted me to dive deeper and explore more about SAP.

I found a forum, back in 2003, and through it, I met someone who owned a company

that later became part of Capgemini. He recognized my interest and potential,
suggesting I join their SAP academy. Wagner Guimarães gave me the opportunity to
become a certified SAP CO Consultant. I took various courses, focusing on SAP FI

accounting processes. Although I'm generally a quiet and reserved person, when I
encounter an error, I am relentless in finding the solution. People often quoted,
“There’s a world beyond SAP,” but I am passionately dedicated to this field.

SAP has opened doors for me in multiple ways. It not only exposed me to diverse
cultures but also significantly impacted my life. Coming from a very poor family in
Brazil, as the oldest of eight siblings, SAP allowed me to support many people. I'm

committed to giving back by sharing knowledge and introducing more people to the

I've been in the SAP ecosystem for about 22 years. Obviously, I won't be working  175739  181  3701
another 22 years, so it's crucial to train new professionals. During my last project with
Caixa Econômica, I mentored five new SAP FI consultants. This is why community
initiatives, such as the recent event held at a university in Campinas, are so vital.
They introduce SAP to new audiences who may not be familiar with it and might
inspire future consultants. It's an exciting prospect.

MS: You've organized many events. Is there a particular highlight you'd like to
share with us?

Roberta: Yes, the happiest day of my life was when I got involved with an event at
PUC last year, on July 27th. It was a massive event, with 300 people signing up. I audreystevenson

was extremely nervous because I was in charge of everything. At one point, someone Product and Topic Expert

turned to me and said, "Roberta, everything's going as planned. Go live." It was  68477  349  1097
incredible to see the event unfold. Imagine 300 people gathering for breakfast,

team, of course. We had 8 volunteers, which really helped. It was amazing to watch
the footage afterwards. Sure, there were some hiccups, but seeing everything mostly
perfect was rewarding.

MS: The anxieties we experience before such events often disappear when we
see everything going according to plan with so many people involved.

Roberta: Exactly.

MS: Organizing such events isn’t an everyday occurrence. Looking towards the
future, do you have any plans for your role in the community over the next few  35949  201  713

Roberta: I do have a goal. It's not so much a target, but a personal ambition to speak
more. I have a lot of knowledge, but I still have fears to overcome. I'd like to be a

SAP Mentor, but I often only share my knowledge in small groups. I'd love to share it
with larger groups, like 300 people, but I still have a lot of work to do on this personal StephanieMarley  5

MS: What other aspects are you looking to gain from participating in the SAP
Community?

Roberta: I believe, Marco, that one of the key aspects is networking. It's about
creating an impact on the lives of others, and I find that incredibly rewarding. When
someone signs up and is exposed to knowledge, innovation, and the open- Alpho  2
mindedness of the community, it leaves a lasting impression. It’s essential for people
to stay engaged, whether it’s from 8 in the morning until 6 or even 8 in the evening.

most. Every time we hold an event, and people attend and listen to the speakers, it's
a significant achievement.

It's amazing when you think about it. People could be at the beach or in a park, yet
they choose to participate, seated and focused. At our recent event in São Paulo,
even though it went until 7 PM, the turnout was impressive, and people stayed until Muhammad-Adil  2

It’s fulfilling to know that what we deliver keeps people engaged. At events, whether Vitaly_Toraman  2
in São Paulo or Recife, attendees don’t leave; they stay and absorb the experience.

MS: How did you come up with the idea to organize events? ThomasNagel  1

Roberta: It's interesting because I really love SAP. The idea of organizing events

initially came from the desire to expand my knowledge and to become better known
by others. I think that's very important in any community.

It's something people often do without expecting any return, but in reality, they gain a
lot. When I talk about gains, I'm not referring to monetary ones but to the value of
building a name for yourself and expanding your knowledge and network. There's a
real-life example of this: someone called me about a presentation by Rogério
Falleiros from São Paulo. They wanted to review it for their presentation. This shows
how valuable connecting with others and sharing knowledge can be.

MS: Now, for the final question. Do you have anything else you'd like to share
with me or the SAP Community?

Roberta: I'd like to see people engage more. Sometimes, there are older consultants
who hesitate to share their knowledge because they fear someone might take their
place.

We're all just passing through, after all. So, why not pass on knowledge to others?
Engagement should involve large-scale knowledge transfer, whether through
platforms like SAP Tech or in our daily interactions. It's important to share what we
know.

People should share without fearing they'll lose their jobs. Specialists and experts will
always be needed. We need to develop more knowledgeable individuals,
knowledgeable about processes, SAP, and new technologies. There's always so
much to learn.

MS: That's right. Well, to wrap up the interview, thank you very much for taking
the time to talk with me and share your experiences and journey with the SAP
Community.
