Have you ever wondered why the

sky is a blue color? And do you
know the truth is the blue color does
not come from the sky?

Where do you think the blue color comes from?

Then where does the blue color come from? It comes from sunlight
traveling through the air. Sunlight looks like it is a white color to us, but it
actually holds all the colors of the rainbow.

Where does the blue color come from?

So how do all the colors of the rainbow make the sky look blue? It’s
because when sunlight passes through air, some of the colors are
scattered more than others.

How do all the colors of the rainbow make the sky look blue?
The color blue has a shorter
wavelength than other colors,
so it is scattered more often. As it
scatters, it gives off a blue light. The
color red has a longer wavelength
so it doesn’t scatter so much, and
that is why our sky is not red!

Why is the color blue scattered

more often than red?
The blue light gets scattered all
around the sky, so wherever we
look, it is this color that reaches us.
And that is why the sky looks blue.

Why does blue light reach us wherever we look?
