v. What is meant by SONAR?
vi. Differentiate between quality and pitch.
vii. Can bats and dolphins travel without vision? Explain how.
viii. Sound is a form of wave. List at least two reasons to support the idea that sound is a wave.

i. What is the difference between regular and irregular reflection?
ii. Why concave mirrors are known as converging mirrors?
iii. State the conditions for total internal reflection.
iv. A man rises his left hand in a plane mirror, the image facing him is raising his right hand. Explain
why.
v. Draw ray diagram for image formation in convex lens when object is beyond 2F.
vi. Is electric field lines a physical quantity?
vii. If a high voltage power line fell across your car while you were in the car, why should you not come

vi. State Joule’s law. Also write its mathematical form.
vii. Why in conductors charge is transferred by free electrons rather than by positive charges?
viii. How many watt-hours are there is 1000 joules?

(b) The power of convex lens is 5D. At what distance the object should be placed from the lens so that
its real and 2 times large image is formed. (5)

Q.7 (a) What is critical angle? Derive a relationship between the critical angle and the refractive index of a
substance. (5)
(b) Two capacitors of capacicitance 6𝜇F and 12𝜇F are connected in series with 12 V battery.Find
the equivalent capacictance of the combination. Find the charge and the potential difference
across each capacitors. (4)
