CHALLENGES.

On Thursday 17th oct 2024

The Chemistry practical 545/2.The paper started 10:10am due to the packing fault from
UNEB.The Unknown from UNEB for center number U1618 was packed in paper envelop for
center number U3848 so after discovering the problem, there was need to cross transfer the
unknown to rightful centers that brought some questions. At the same time there was also
shortage of Chemistry practical apparatus that made the candidates to be divided in to two
shifts.

The two candidates sat under protest for the subjects they did not register.

1.Omoding Patrick under index number U1618/088

Physics 535/3

Chemistry 545/3

Biology 553/3

He was supposed to have sat for paper 2 for three subjects above but the teacher who
registered assured them that, personal number 001-088 were to do practical (s) paper 2 and
from personal number 089-176 do practical (s) paper3 .He didn’t display information on the
notice board for checking therefore, it was hard and difficult for the students to know the
practical papers they were to do.

Owana Simon index number U1618/175 also sat for.

Physics 535/2

Chemistry 545/2

Biology 553/2

He was also to have sat for paper 3 for three subjects above but the teacher who registered
assured them that, personal number U1618/ 001-088 were to do practical (s) paper 2 and from
personal number U1618/ 089- U1618/176 do practical (s) paper3.

RECOMMENDATIONS

On the issue of packing unknown for practical papers, UNEB should always check thoroughly
the amount packed visa vi the number of candidates per the given school before sealing such
that what is packed is right to a right place.

I also urge UNEB to encourage Head teachers to emphasis on the display of UNEB registers after
registering learners for checking in advance to avoid such anomalous above.

I do appreciate and encourage UNEB to maintain the time allocated per subject (paper) as it
was enough and students were able to complete within the allocated time.

In a nutshell, all registered candidates did examination (all papers) , there were no errors in the
question papers, time allocated was enough and invigilators were vigilante in monitoring and
supervision therefore, the whole process was a success.
