Performance Test Code for Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler

This document outlines the performance testing procedures for circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers with an evaporation capacity of 35 t/h or more, primarily for power generation. It details the necessary guidelines, normative references, and specific tests such as boiler maximum continuous evaporation and thermal efficiency tests, including requirements for fuel characteristics and operational conditions. The document emphasizes the importance of adhering to specified parameter fluctuation ranges and stabilization times prior to testing.

Performance test code for circulating fluidized bed boiler

Circulating fluidized bed boiler performance test procedures

1 scope
This standard specifies the method for performance testing of circulating fluidized
bed (CFB) boilers.
This standard is applicable to CFB boilers with an evaporation capacity of 35 t/h or
more and used for power generation. CFB boilers with other capacities or uses
may refer to this standard for implementation.
2 Normative references
The clauses in the following documents become the clauses of this standard
through reference in this standard. For all the referenced documents with dates,
all the subsequent amendments (excluding errata) or revisions are not applicable
to this standard. However, the parties who reach an agreement based on this
standard are encouraged to study whether the latest versions of these documents
can be used. For all the referenced documents without dates, the latest versions
are applicable to this standard.

3 Guidelines
3.1 Balance Boundary
The thermal balance system boundary diagram of the CFB boiler unit is shown in
Figure 1.
3.2 Heat balance diagram
The heat balance diagram of the CFB boiler unit is shown in Figure 2.
3.3 Performance test content
CFB boiler performance tests include boiler maximum continuous evaporation
test (BMCR), boiler thermal efficiency at rated evaporation rate (BRL)
According to the needs, the CFB boiler performance test can also include the
boiler minimum load test (without auxiliary fuel) and partial load test.
content.
Test and flue gas pollutant emission characteristic test, etc. Among them, the flue
gas pollutant emission characteristic test must be carried out at the same time as
the thermal efficiency test.
3.4 Agreements to be reached before the test
a) The range of fluctuation of the test material characteristic indicators.
The test material properties should conform to the original design values. The
allowable fluctuation range of the fuel property index entering the furnace
(relative to the design value) is:
Received base lower calorific value, Qnet,ar±10% (relative value);
Total moisture, Mt±2% (absolute value);
Ash content as received, Aar ± 5% (absolute value);
Total sulfur content received, St,ar ± 0.5% (absolute value);
Volatile matter on dry ash-free basis, Vdaf±2% (absolute value).
The allowable fluctuation range (relative to the design value) of the characteristic
index of limestone entering the furnace is:
Fig 1 CFB boiler unit heat balance system boundary diagram
Total moisture, not exceeding ±0.5% (absolute value);
The as-received calcium carbonate content shall not exceed ±3% (absolute value).
When the test fuel characteristic index is within the above-mentioned allowable
fluctuation range, the test calculation results may not be corrected; if it exceeds
this range, the test parties shall negotiate and agree before the test.
b) The particle size composition of the fuel and limestone entering the furnace
should conform to the original design characteristic distribution curve as much as
possible. The mass percentage of particles exceeding the designed maximum
particle size in the fuel and limestone entering the furnace should not exceed 5%
(absolute value). At the same time, under normal circumstances, the deviation
between the median diameter dso (particle size corresponding to 50% sieve
residue) of the fuel and limestone entering the furnace and the design value
should be within ±10% (relative value).
c) Determination of boiler test operating conditions. The operating mode and
operating parameters during the boiler test should be determined by the boiler
manufacturer, user and testing unit in consultation with reference to the boiler
operating instructions and based on the actual on-site operating conditions and
optimal conditions and parameters.
d) The operation mode of the slag cooler should be determined according to the
instruction manual of the slag cooler and the actual operation of the boiler and
meet the relevant provisions of 4.3 of this standard.
e) Determine the method for measuring the proportion of ash and slag in each
part.
3.5 Boiler operation stabilization time
The CFB boiler stabilization time before the performance test shall also be based
on the set Ca/S molar ratio and limestone shall be continuously added to the
furnace for desulfurization operation for more than 72 hours before the
performance test begins.
3.6 Parameter fluctuation rangeThe maximum permissible range of fluctuations of
other parameters of the CFB boiler during the test is shown in Table 1.
