FAMILY
Families exist in some form in every society of the world, and every
person is or was a member of a family. Various definitions of the family
include special biological, psychological, and social linkages. Biologically
everyone has a father and a mother. Psychologically most people identify
with someone they define as a parent, grandparent, brother or sister, uncle,
or cousin. Socially most people are members of a group they perceive as
family.
There are different types of families. The most common are the Nuclear -
Single Parent and the - Childless families. While most people think of
family as including children, there are couples who either cannot or choose
not to have children. The childless family is sometimes the "forgotten
family," as it does not meet the traditional standards set by society.
Childless families consist of a husband and a wife living and working
together.
The nuclear family is the traditional type of family structure. This family
type consists of two parents and children. The nuclear family was long
held in esteem by society as being the ideal in which to raise children.
Children in nuclear families receive strength and stability from the
two-parent structure and generally have more opportunities due to the
financial ease of two adults.
In contrast The single parent family consists of one parent raising one or
more children on their own. Often, a single parent family is a mother with
her children, although there are single fathers as well. One in four children
is born to a single mother. Single parent families are generally close and
find ways to work together to solve problems, such as sharing household
chores. Many of these parents receive help from their relatives.
Divorce has progressively become a common procedure worldwide,
affecting not only parents and their offspring, but also the communities
that surround the family unit. It persists to affect various aspects of
children's daily lives and rituals. Children and adolescents are
consequently deprived of a customary and stable family upbringing and
thus suffer the disadvantages of a single-parent family structure. There are
a lot of reasons why people decide to divorce, for instance they don’t get
along well anymore, have a lot of arguments or cheats on each other.
While the members get divorce many problems can arise too, for example
sharing of money.
From this moment, the mother (or the father) has to do everything and to
be the breadwinner to a family. Which is not typical in a standard family,
because men usually earn more money, and the few years after the child is
born the mother is always at home. I totally disagree with the sentence “
the home of a mother is the kitchen “, because I would never stay at home
all day long doing nothing but the housework. I’m inclined to believe that
women have the same rights as men.
Marriage at an early age has pros and cons. Starting life at a young age can
be hard together, but it is more profitable later, because you can put aside
more money and buy a new house. The bills of a sublease are high and the
price of a house or flat too, but everything together is easier than alone, but
you both have to work for your goals. Cons are about personality because
in the teen ages people think “ I didn’t live enough and I want to break
up”, but beside that I would find my soulmate in my 20’s.
Unfortunately there are homelessness who don’t have a family or a home
where they can go. They usually live on a dole, and to tell the truth it
doesn’t help so much, but everything has a solution.
I live with my parents and they have been married for 6 years, but they
have been dating since 1997. They thought that love is not based on
marriage. The breadwinner of my family is my dad, but as he thinks it is
his task. I’m an only child but when I was a little girl I always wanted a
sister. I’m so thankful for them because they make my life easier and
happier and they are my biggest supporters. If I have a child I hope I will
be as appreciative as them.
