Application
Answer each question.
1. You are playing tennis against Harry. Harry is basically a baseline player. What strategy would you use
when playing against Harry?
He is going to have long forceful hits so you want to make sure you use forehand or backhand stroke so you
can get enough force to hit the ball back. Stay farther back so you can anticipate the serve or hit.
2. You are returning a serve, your partner is at the service line, and the ball you are returning is hit into
the forehand or backhand corner, forcing you wide. What should you do next? Why?
You should lean far and use the lob or the volley so you can just get the ball off your side and back to your
opponent. Make sure you are focussed on not letting it drop.
