"Can I beat a
competitor with
70,000
backlinks?"

(Yes, you can. Here‘s how)

First thing you need to know:

Your competitor does NOT actually

have 70,000 backlinks.

Semrush and Ahrefs both pick up a

TON of spammy backlinks that don't
actually impact your rankings.

Here's how to find the REAL number:

Step #1.
Run a competitor through Semrush
backlink analytics you'll get the fake
number, as seen on the screenshot
below.
That's around 53,000 backlinks.

Average cost per backlink being 300

USD, does that mean your competitor
has backlinks worth $15,900,000?

NOPE!
Step #2.

Set the following filters:

- Active
- Do-follow
- 1 Link Per Domain

And we're down to 2,500 backlinks.

But we're not done yet - that's not the
final number. Do this...
Step #3.
Delete ALL backlinks on the list from
pages with an authority score of 0 to 5.

Some of these links will be legitimate,

but 90% of them will be spam, and it's
better to "err" on the side of just
cutting them out.
Final result: around 800 links total.
Step #4.
From there, simply calculate the gap
between you and the competitor, and
there you have it - your total backlink
target.

So, if you're at 600 links, you'll need to

build 15 links / month for a year to
catch up and (potentially) outrank
them.
