Residence instructions 04th January, 2024

1. Rent should be paid FIRST before moving into the house.

2. For all subsequent months, rent is payable in full before or on 2th day of each month. Rent is inclusive of water and lighting
bills. If students want to use electricity for cooking, they will need to make contributions.

3. Students are provided with a bed and mattress upon arrival. Surrender everything to the house manager when school
closes.

4. All payments should be paid through the banks: National Bank or Standard Bank. The account numbers are found on
WhatsApp group description. Payment through bank through AirtelMoney or Mpamba may sometimes be used but include
transaction fee.

5. For House 1: Where a student arrives (opening the semester) between:


a. 1-10th of the month: You will pay full rent (K31,000)
b. 11-20th of the month: you will pay 75% (K23,250)
c. 21-31st of the month: you will pay 1,500 per day till the month ends
When you close the semester and you leave for home (closing the semester) between;
a. 1-10th of the month: You will pay K1,500 per day for each day you have stayed in the house
b. 11-20th of the month: you will pay 75% (K23,250)
c. 21-31st of the month: you will pay full rent (K31,000)

For House 2: Where a student arrives (opening the semester) between;


a. 1-10th of the month: You will pay full rent (K33,000)
b. 11-20th of the month: you will pay 75% (K24,750)
c. 21-31st of the month: you will pay 1,500 per day
When you close the semester and you leave for home (closing the semester) between;
a. 1-10th of the month: You will pay K1,500 per day for each day you have stayed in the house
b. 11-20th of the month: you will pay 75% (K24,750)
c. 21-31st of the month: you will pay full rent (K33,000)

6. Where the holiday is more than a month, bed reservation fee of K7, 000 per person per month will be paid. This is
applicable only to students who want to keep their places for the next semester.

7. Students are not allowed to accommodate fellow students or friends in their rooms.

8. Do not bring visitors (him or her) that would cause discomfort to roommates. Consult your roommate if he is comfortable
having the visitor in your room at that time. If he is not, the visitor should not be allowed in the room. You own a bed not
a room!

9. Report any broken window for fixing even before occupying. Do not leave any properties close to the broken window till it
is fixed. If you do not report, it will be assumed you broke it and liable to pay for it.

10. If you break windows or doors or lose keys, take it your responsibility to replace them or you will be charged.

11. Before you sleep, ensure that all the windows or doors are closed.

12. If somebody checks out and you would like to move to the vacant bedroom, find out from House Manager. There might
be somebody in the house who had already booked that room or bed. Changing rooms is acceptable but only if you take
good care of your current room.

13. Remember to clean common places after using them. Remove all personal utensils from sink so that the next person
can comfortably use it.

14. Use the toilet responsibly. Clean the seat or the toilet after use. Use only toilet paper to avoid blockage.

15. All valuable properties (laptops, batteries, memory cards, phones, hard drives, etc) must be well secured. It remains
your responsibility to protect them. Nobody but yourself will be held responsible for missing gadget.

16. Misbehaviour, insolence or any act deemed unnecessary but recurring will lead to expulsion from the house.

17. Since you are sharing a common place in the room, avoid bringing in so many luggage.
