Knitting Pattern DK752 - Intermediate

Sizes:
Small (Medium, Large, XL, 2XL, 3XL), to fit bust 32-34 (36-
38, 40-42, 44-46, 48-50, 52-54)”
Sample is shown in size Medium. Cardigan has oversized
fit, with approx 4-6” ease. To size down for a closer fit,
refer to cardigan measurements.

Materials:
• Cascade Yarns® 220 Sport: 100% Highland Wool; 50 g
(1.75 oz); 164 yds (150 m)
• 7 (8, 9, 10, 11, 12) skeins Color #8410 Silver (MC)
• 3 (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) skeins Color #2401 Burgundy Red (CC)
• Sizes US 5, 6 and 7 (3.5 mm, 4mm and 4.5 mm) circu-
lar knitting needles, 24”, 36” long, or size to obtain gauge.
• Four extra circular needles for stitch holders.
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
• 5 buttons, 1.25” wide

Finished Measurements:

When incs are complete, work even until sleeve measures
17”, or to desired length.

Finishing:
Weave in all ends. Steam all pieces lightly above ribbing.
Steam pocket linings. Sew Fronts to Back at shoulders.
Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves into armholes: match
center of sleeve with shoulder seam.

Pocket ribbing:
With RS facing and size 6 (4mm) needle, pick up 44 (44,
44, 48, 48, 52) sts evenly along bound off edge of pocket
opening.

Next row (WS): P3, * k2, p2; rep from *, end p3.
Next row (RS): K3, * p2, k2; rep from *, end k3.
Work even until rib measures 1.5”, end with WS row. Bind
off in rib. Sew edges of ribbing to Fronts.

Turn work. Pin pocket linings in place: it will be slightly


wider, either side, than pocket opening: pleat lower edge to
be the same width as pocket opening. Sew edges of lining
to WS, catching in the floats. Sew lower edge loosely in
place so that it does not pull on RS.

Front Trim:
With RS facing, MC and size 5 (3.5 mm) circular needle,
beg at right front lower edge, pick up 90 sts to yarn

Colorwork Pattern Chart:
92 row repeat.
Read odd-numbered RS rows from right to left; read even-
numbered WS rows from left to right. Carry yarn not being
used loosely across WS. Bring both yarns to the end of every
row, twisting if nec.
Beg each piece at Right of chart. Each colorwork band
has its own rep lines, indicated in blue. For Body, END
each separate color band as shown at Left of chart for that
band. For Sleeves, work to end of first band as shown at
left of chart, then work into following band pats as incs are
worked.
