Read: Exodus 3:2-4 & 3:9-11

When Moses went to the burning bush there God reveled a “Cry”! And God told Moses the reason I am
sending you is to be answer to their cry! Their cry is God’s call to you.

Let’s be honest, it is not that we ourselves don’t hear the cry of the world around us but rather it is that
we don’t know how to answer it. We feel inadequate or feel we lack the resources to answer the need.
Moses certainly felt overwhelmed. Moses’ reply was “Who am I?”. You see it was not that Moses
himself was unaware of the people’s plight. It is the reason Moses was in desert to begin with. He was
on the run and hiding from “The Cry”. Isn’t this what we do with the “Cry” we feel incapable of
answering? We run from it. We look away and shut our ears. But the impact we make in this world is not
determined by the resources in our hands but rather the “Cry” we are willing listen to and engage with.

No matter how far Moses tried to run the “Cry” found Moses in the desert. God made it clear that he
was God’s answer to the cry.

“Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied.” Exodus 4:2 NIV

The answer to the “Cry” was in Moses’ hands the whole time. The potential of what we have within us
never is fully realized until we turn our ears to the “Cry”. What’s in your hands will never feel sufficient!
You will never feel adequate until you say yes! Say yes and discover what is in your hands!

Application
This world of our is crying if we would have the ears to listen! Just as with Moses and the burning bush,
it is time to allow ourselves to be inconvenienced and turn aside and open our eyes and ears.
What is the “Cry” you have been running from? Instead of running start listening and secondly start
talking to God about it.

Prayer
Lord, I am willing! Open my ears that I might hear, my eyes that I may see, my heart that I may
understand. Give me the prompting of your spirit to say yes and the faith to act.
