3. A farmer owns two godowns G1 and G2 containing 350 bags and 250 bags of rice
respectively. Three customers C1, C2 and C3 have ordered 200 bags , 150 bags and

250 bags respectively. The cost per bag of transporting rice to each customer from

each godown are as follows.

Transport cost
C1 C2 C3
Godown G1 300/= 600/= 600/=
Godown G2 500/= 400/= 500/=
The farmer wishes to meet the orders at a minimum cost.

a) How should he supply his customers?

b) What is the overall minimum transport cost?
