1. This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.


2. Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
3. Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
5. Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
6. Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with subparts of the
values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Qs of 5 marks, 2 Qs
of 3 marks and 2 Questions of 2 marks has been provided. An internal choice has
been provided in the 2marks questions of Section E

In the right triangle ABC, right angled at C, M is the mid-point of hypotenuse AB. C is joined to M
and produced to a point D such that DM = CM. Point D is joined to point B.

Case study-based questions are compulsory.

36. When you see the Moon way up in the sky, it’s hard to get a sense of perspective about how big
the Moon really is. Just how big is the Moon compared to Earth? The diameter of the moon is
approximately one-fourth of the diameter of the earth. Let us consider the radii of the earth

and the moon be R and r respectively

Answer the following questions:

(i) Write the formula for finding the volume of a sphere of radius ‘P’?
(ii) Express the radius (R) of the earth in terms of the radius( r) of the moon.
(iii) Find the ratio of the volume of the moon to that of the earth.
OR
Find the ratio of the surface area of the moon to that of the earth.

37. A triangular park ABC has sides 120m, 80m and 50m. A gardener Vishal has to put a fence all
around it by leaving 3m wide for a gate on one side and also plant grass inside.

Answer the following questions:

(i) What is the length of the wire needed for fencing the park?

(ii) Find the cost of fencing it with barbed wire at the rate of Rs 20 per metre.

(iii) Find the area of the park. [Take √15 = 3.872 ]

Find the area of a triangular park whose sides are 110m, 100 and 90m. [Take √2 = 1.414 ]

38. In countries like USA and Canada, temperature is measured in Fahrenheit, whereas in
countries like India, it is measured in Celsius. Here is a linear equation that relates
Fahrenheit to Celsius.
