vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition version 12.9.2 is a maintenance update release that replaces the
previously released version 12.9.1 and earlier with feature enhancements and bug fixes:
• Reduced vSpace host utilization and improved overall user density by enhancing GPU
offloading during H.264 sessions.
• RDSL-7562 - Fixed slight text discoloration in vSpace sessions when H.264 is enabled.
• RDSL-7564 - Resolved vSpace incompatibility with the Windows 11 version 24H2 OS update
(2025-02 cumulative update, KB5051987). After this OS update, the vSpace host may
experience booting issues. To prevent this, the vSpace host should be upgraded to the latest
vSpace Pro Enterprise version before updating the host OS to Windows 11 (2025-02
cumulative update).
MPORTANT NOTE:
• NComputing has migrated to using enhanced security certificates for vSpace Pro software
12.5.2 and higher versions. Previous versions of vSpace Pro came with SHA1 security
certificates. Following the industry trend, we now only use SHA2 security certificates in
vSpace Pro.
• If you use Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 and do not have SHA2 security certificate
patch applied to the OS, you will not be able to install vSpace Pro Enterprise 12.5.2 or
higher versions. In this case, you must be updated to accept SHA2 security certificates.
Other newer Windows OSes support SHA2 security certificates by default.
• Please review our 'Knowledge Base article' for details of the requirements including the
specific Microsoft updates you must apply before you can install this version of vSpace Pro
software on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition version 12.9.1 is a major update release that replaces the previously
released version 12.8.0 and earlier with feature enhancements and bug fixes:
VSS120902RN01
vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition (version 12.9.2) – Release Notes Page 4
This results in significantly reduced bandwidth requirements and lower latency,
making it ideal for vSpace remote access over a Wide-Area Network or VPN.
Additionally, it is optimized for 3D rendering applications that demand low latency.
Please refer to the summary table below for the available vSpace protocol options
for supported clients:
* Host Windows OSes with UXP Turbo (H.264) protocol support include:
▪ Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2025, Windows 10, and Windows 11
▪ For Windows 10 and 11, the Window Media Feature Pack is required. For
Windows Server 2022 and 2025, Window Media Foundation is required. Learn
more here.
o By default, the UXP Turbo (H.264) protocol is disabled in vSpace, but it can be
enabled through the vSpace Console. Refer to Figure 1 below for instructions on
how to centrally enable this feature across your vSpace deployment on supported
clients.
o If a client's firmware does not support UXP Turbo (H.264) protocol, it will fall back
to either the standard UXP protocol or UXP Turbo (JPEG) protocol, depending on the
vSpace Console settings.

vSpace host resources. Please refer to Figure 2 below for guidance on using the
Device Profile in the vSpace Console to enable or disable the UXP Turbo (H.264)
protocol for individual devices or groups of supported clients.
Note: Using the UXP Turbo (H.264) protocol on a vSpace host may increase CPU
utilization due to the encoding process. It is advisable to enable this feature on a
more powerful vSpace host, ideally one with embedded or standalone GPU
components to support hardware acceleration. The UXP Turbo (H.264) protocol is
particularly suited for remote access over WAN and 3D rendering applications. This
protocol can be activated or deactivated on a per-device basis, allowing for
optimized management to balance vSpace host resource usage.
• Added device and session management support for RX520, RX540 and RX580 thin clients.
• Modernized UI for vSpace Console’s ‘Session View’ and ‘Multiview’.
• Added the option to enable UXP Turbo (h.264) protocol for the deployed vSpace Server:
o From vSpace Console > Manage Servers > select host > Select ‘Enable UXP Turbo
Protocol’ > Select ‘Use advanced H.264 codec’. By default, ‘Use hardware encoding
for H.264 codec’ will be selected.

RX300/RX300+ firmware (version 4.4.0) included in vSpace Pro Enterprise (version 12.9.1)
release:
• Support for the enhanced ‘UXP Turbo’ protocol with the advanced H.264 codec
(requires vSpace Pro Enterprise version 12.9.1 or higher), offering improved
compression, reduced bandwidth, and lower latency, making it ideal for:
o vSpace Server access over WAN or VPN
o Applications requiring low network latency, such as CAD systems which need to
render and animate 3D objects.
The UXP Turbo with the H.264 support brings next-generation performance for vSpace
Pro Enterprise servers running on Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2022, or
Windows Server 2025.
• Possibility to upload wallpapers, boot-up splash images, certificates, and generic files
(e.g. ovpn files) from the locally connected USB drive.
• Ability to use Generic Files to distribute OpenVPN configurations.
• Ability to bypass the HTTP proxy when establishing management connection to PMC
Endpoint Manager (e.g., when deployed on-prem), while using the configured HTTP
proxy for other network connections (e.g., connections through the Internet).
• VPN icon in the system menu for IP display and quick configuration access.
VSS120902RN01
vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition (version 12.9.2) – Release Notes Page 7
These options provide the flexibility of being able to globally enable the H.264 encoding
in vSpace Server (requiring higher CPU/GPU load), but disable the H.264 support on
selected clients when not required.
vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition version 12.8.0 is a major update release that replaces the previously
released version 12.7.5 and earlier with feature enhancements and bug fixes:
• VCON –1009 - Addressed the vSpace Console task scheduler issue (reboot, power off,
firmware update) for L400 devices.
• RDSL-7519 – Resolved the issue where vCast Streaming via VLC Player didn’t function
when VLC Player was installed through the Windows Package Manager.

If you have RX300 firmware version 3.x or 2.x, you must first upgrade to 4.0.5
firmware before you can upgrade again to a higher firmware version. This is due to
the fact that in RX300 firmware version 4.0.5 we have eliminated the Raspbian
Desktop operation mode and subsequent firmware upgrades are only possible when
upgrading from 4.0.5 or a higher firmware version.
For convenience purposes, NComputing has provided the following HTTP URL which
can be used for the RX300 4.0.5 firmware update:

RX-RDP+ and RX420(RDP) endpoints are compatible with vSpace Pro Enterprise
Edition (version 12.4.0 and above). RX440(RDP) endpoint is compatible with vSpace
Pro Enterprise Edition (version 12.7.4 and above).
By default, vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition provides a vSpace trial mode of up to five
10-minute vSpace concurrent sessions, including RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP) and
RX440(RDP) endpoints. After 10 minutes, the session will be signed out. You can
sign-in again to continue evaluating the product.
To remove the five 10-minute vSpace concurrent session limit for RX-RDP+,
RX420(RDP) and RX440(RDP), vSpace Pro Client Licenses are required based on the
number RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP) and RX440(RDP) concurrently connected to vSpace Pro
Enterprise Edition sessions.
Please note that AMP compliance is required to use vSpace Pro Enterprise. vSpace
Pro Client Licenses are available with the following SKUs:
• vSpacePro-SW-1A (1 year)
• vSpacePro-SW-3A (3 years)
• vSpacePro-SW-5A (5 years)
vSpace Console included in this vSpace Pro Enterprise Edition release can only
manage a subset of RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP) and RX440(RDP) configuration settings. For
full RX-RDP+, RX420(RDP) and RX440(RDP) feature set management, the separate
PMC device management system should be used.

wait a second or two after finishing the recording before stopping a
