Very Short Stories

Story 1: The Lost Key


John was very worried. He had lost the key to his house and he couldn’t get inside.
He searched everywhere, but he couldn’t find it. He looked in his pockets, under
the doormat, and even in the bushes.

Suddenly, he remembered that he had given a spare key to his neighbor. He went
to his neighbor’s house and asked if he could borrow the key. His neighbor happily
gave him the key and John was able to get inside his house.

From then on, John made sure to keep his spare key in a safe place, so he
wouldn’t have to worry about being locked out again.

Story 2: The Friendly Dog


Samantha was walking home from school when she saw a dog on the street. The
dog looked lost and scared. Samantha slowly approached the dog, and the dog
started wagging its tail.

Samantha realized that the dog was very friendly and needed help. She looked for
a collar or a tag with the dog’s owner’s information but couldn’t find anything.

She decided to take the dog home and give it some food and water. Then, she
called the local animal shelter to report the lost dog. The shelter was able to find
the dog’s owner, and they were very grateful to Samantha for taking care of their
beloved pet.

From then on, Samantha became a friend to the dog and its owner, who lived
nearby. She would often stop by and play with the dog, who was always happy to
see her.

Story 3: The Birthday Surprise


It was Emily’s birthday, and her friends had planned a surprise party for her. Emily
had no idea what was going on. Her friends told her to meet them at the park, and
when she arrived, they jumped out and yelled, “Surprise!”

Emily was so happy and grateful for her friends. They had brought balloons, cake,
and presents. They all sat together and sang “Happy Birthday” to Emily.

After they finished eating cake, Emily’s friends gave her the presents. Emily was so
excited to open them. She got a new book, some clothes, and a necklace. She
thanked her friends and gave them all big hugs.
It was the best birthday ever, and Emily felt so loved by her friends. She knew that
they would always be there for her, no matter what.

Story 4: The Helpful Stranger


Sophie was lost in the city. She had taken the wrong bus and didn’t know how to
get back home. She felt scared and alone.

Just then, a friendly stranger approached her and asked if she needed help.
Sophie was hesitant at first, but the stranger seemed kind and trustworthy.

The stranger asked Sophie where she needed to go, and she told him. He gave
her clear directions and even walked with her part of the way to make sure she
didn’t get lost again.

Sophie was grateful to the helpful stranger. She realized that not everyone in the
city was scary or dangerous. She made it back home safely and promised herself
that she would also help others in need if she could.

Story 5: The Broken Vase


Lena was playing soccer inside the house, which was not a good idea. She kicked
the ball too hard and it hit her mother’s favorite vase. The vase fell and broke into
many pieces.

Lena was scared to tell her mother. She knew her mother would be upset. But she
also knew that honesty was the best policy.

She went to her mother and told her what happened. Her mother was upset at first,
but then she saw how brave Lena was for telling the truth.

Her mother didn’t get mad, but instead, they worked together to clean up the
broken vase. Lena learned an important lesson that day: it’s better to tell the truth
and face the consequences than to lie and make things worse.

Story 6: The Brave Firefighter


David wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up. He loved the idea of helping
people and saving lives.

One day, he got to live out his dream when his neighbor’s house caught on fire.
David called 911 and watched as the firefighters arrived.

He saw how brave and strong the firefighters were as they entered the burning
house to save the family and put out the fire.

David knew that being a firefighter was not an easy job, but he felt even more
inspired to pursue his dream. He wanted to be a hero like the firefighters he saw
that day.
Story 7: The New Friend
Sara was a new student at school. She felt nervous and alone, but she wanted to
make friends. One day, she met a girl named Lisa who was kind and friendly.

Lisa invited Sara to sit with her at lunch, and they started talking. They realized
they had a lot in common and became fast friends.

Sara was so happy to have found a new friend. She realized that making friends
wasn’t as hard as she thought. All she had to do was be herself and be open to
new experiences.

Story 8: The Magic Garden


Alex loved to play in his backyard. One day, he found a secret garden hidden
behind a wall of bushes. He was so excited to explore it.

As he walked through the garden, he saw flowers that glowed and trees that
sparkled. He heard the sound of laughter and realized that he was not alone.

He saw a group of fairies and elves dancing and playing. They invited Alex to join
in, and he had the time of his life.

When it was time to go home, the fairies and elves thanked Alex for playing with
them. They gave him a special flower that would always remind him of the magic
garden.

Alex couldn’t believe what had just happened. He realized that magic could be
found in unexpected places, and he would never forget the amazing adventure he
had in the secret garden.

Story 9: The Brave Turtle


Timmy loved to go to the beach. One day, he saw a turtle struggling in the waves.
The turtle was caught in a fishing net and couldn’t free itself.

Timmy knew he had to help the turtle. He carefully untangled the net and gently
released the turtle back into the water.

The turtle swam away, and Timmy felt proud of himself for being a hero. He
realized that even small acts of kindness could make a big difference in the world.

Story 10: The Curious Cat


Mia was a curious cat. She loved to explore new places and things, even if it got
her into trouble. One day, she saw a bird perched on a branch outside her window.
Mia was fascinated by the bird and wanted to get closer to it. She jumped onto the
windowsill, but the bird flew away.

Mia didn’t give up. She decided to climb the tree outside to get a better view. But
as she climbed higher and higher, she lost her footing and fell to the ground.

Mia was hurt, but thankfully not seriously. She realized that her curiosity had put
her in danger. From that day on, she learned to be more careful and to think before
she acted.
