CMS: TEKNOFEST Corporate Management System,

Team Captain: Team Captain The person who is responsible for the organization
of the team and takes the leadership role in the processes,

Team Advisor: Maximum one (1) teacher/trainer/academic for each team,

TEKNOFEST: Aviation, Space and Technology Festival,

T3 Foundation: Technology Team Foundation of Turkey,

Competition Process: This refers to the period between the date when the
applications for the competition start to be received and the date when the final
results are announced.

1. AIM OF COMPETITION
This competition aims to encourage individuals to implement their creative and
innovative ideas and provide solutions to social problems. The competition aims to
support the development of projects that aim to create social benefits with a sense of
social responsibility, while ensuring that individuals use their knowledge and skills in a
way that will contribute to society. At the same time, it is aimed to implement applicable
projects to increase the living standards of individuals and groups, reduce inequalities
in social areas and increase the general welfare of society.

2. SCOPE OF COMPETITION
With this competition:
• Providing innovative and effective solutions to the social needs of society,
• Improving the living conditions of individuals and supporting them to lead their lives
effectively,
• Enabling greater participation in social opportunities and environments,
• It is aimed to develop project ideas that offer more efficient, effective and innovative
approaches to the problems encountered in social life than existing solutions.
Within the scope of the competition, innovative projects that aim to increase social
benefit and improve the quality of life, support the active participation of individuals in
society and improve their living conditions are expected under the topics of (I) Lifelong
Learning, (II) Society and (III) Security.

2.1. Lifelong Learning
Lifelong learning encompasses technological solutions that facilitate individuals’
access to information throughout their lives, improve their abilities, and make learning
processes more effective. Under this heading, project ideas related to innovative
systems across a wide spectrum from education to personal development are
expected.

2.1.1. Digital Learning Platforms


Tools such as online courses, mobile applications and virtual classrooms that facilitate
access to information from anywhere. Project ideas suitable for this scope are
expected.

2.1.2. Talent and Skill Improvement Technologies


Project ideas related to technologies that improve individuals' digital, creative and
analytical skills and enable their professional development and adaptation to the
business world are expected.

2.1.3 Accessible Learning Systems


Project ideas on inclusive education systems designed for individuals with disabilities,
the elderly, and users with different learning needs are expected.

2.2 Society
The Society heading includes technological solutions that aim to increase solidarity,
social interaction and quality of life between individuals and communities. In this
context, project ideas on innovative systems for issues such as inclusiveness, resource
sharing, living spaces and employment are expected.

2.2.1. Inclusive Society Solutions


Project ideas on social interaction technologies that enable different ages, cultures and
groups to live in harmony are expected.

2.2.2. Resource Sharing Technologies


Project ideas on social interaction technologies that enable different ages, cultures and
groups to live in harmony are expected.

2.2.3. Living Spaces and Employment


Project ideas are expected regarding solutions that sustainably develop residential and
business areas and create new employment opportunities.

2.2.4. Remote Working and Hybrid Models


Project ideas regarding remote working and hybrid work models that enable
employees to work efficiently regardless of location are expected.

2.2.5. Accessibility and Inclusivity Solutions
Project ideas are expected regarding technologies that will enable disadvantaged
groups (elderly, children, etc.) to be included in social opportunities and environments,
have easier access to care services, and support more active participation in social
life, which are more effective, efficient and innovative than existing solutions.

2.3. Security
The security heading covers solutions that ensure the protection of individuals,
locations and digital assets. Project ideas on innovative systems are expected within
a wide framework from physical security to digital privacy.

2.3.1. Personel Security Solutions


Project ideas regarding smart devices and technologies that increase the security of
individuals in their daily lives are expected.

2.3.2. Digital Privacy and Data Protection Solutions


Project ideas on data security technologies that ensure the protection of personal
information from unauthorized access are expected.

2.3.3. Cybersecurity Technologies


Project ideas regarding systems that protect individuals and institutions against digital
threats are expected.

3. COMPETITION PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS


• All primary school, secondary school, high school (including correspondence
school) and university students (including undergraduate, associate degree,
master's degree, doctorate and correspondence school) studying in Türkiye, the
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) or abroad can participate in the
competitions, as well as graduates.
• The final stage of the competition will take place in TRNC. The finalist team quota
is limited for teams from Türkiye and detailed information will be provided later by
the TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee.
• If the competitor has participated in TEKNOFEST competitions organized in
previous years with the project to participate in TEKNOFEST 2025, he / she can
apply again with the condition of developing and / or transforming his / her project /
idea.
• The competitor cannot participate in TEKNOFEST Competitions with an identical
and/or copy report/idea of the project report/idea that he/she has previously
participated in TEKNOFEST Competitions. Projects found to be similar or imitation
will be excluded from the competition.
• Within the scope of the previous year TEKNOFEST project presentations, the
presentations published on www.teknofest.org must be cited if they are quoted from

the project reports that they have participated in previous years. You can access the
format of specifying the source from the general rules heading in the specification.
• Competitors can apply to the same and/or different TEKNOFEST competitions with
different projects.
• A separate application form must be filled in for each different project.
• Competitors can apply to only one category or one competition with the same
project. The applications of teams or individuals applying to different categories or
different competitions organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST with the same
project will be deemed invalid.
• When choosing a category, the level of education you are at during the application
period should be considered.
• If the competitor has previously taken part in another competition (TEKNOFEST or
other competitions) with the same project, the name, place, date, organizer, and the
result of the competition should be reported in the project file.
• For high school graduates to apply for the high school category, no more than 3
(three) years must have passed since the date of graduation.
• Students are required to upload their approved student documents and counsellors
are required to upload their approved documents showing the institution they work
for to the system with wet signature on the date to be announced by the
TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee.

3.1. Team Creation


• Teams should be formed with a maximum of 6 team members for all categories and
education levels. (This number does not include the counsellor.)
• The counsellor should not be added as a team member. The role of the advisor in
the team should be specified as ‘advisor’.
• Participation in the competition can be made as a team as well as an individual
application.
• Our primary, middle and high school level competitors who will apply individually
must have an advisor.
• Teams at primary, middle and high school level must have an advisor.
• Teams that will compete at university level and above are not obliged to have an
advisor.
• Each team can have at most one counsellor. Applications for teams with more than
one counsellor will be invalid.
• Teams can be formed from a single school or a mixed team of students from one or
more different schools and with different levels of education. However, teams can
form a mixed team with participants from education levels at most one level below.
In this context:
✓ A team at primary school level can only consist of members at its own level.
✓ A team at secondary school level can form a mixed team with primary school
students.

✓ A team at high school level can form a mixed team with secondary school
students.
✓ A team at university level and above can form a mixed team with high school
students.

• Teams can be formed from a single country or a mixed team can be formed by
bringing together students from one or more countries. The competition category in
which the team can participate will be determined according to the highest level of
education of the team members. The country where most of the members of a team
are located can be determined as the country of the team; however, the team can
choose a country of their choice on their own initiative.
• Individual applicants who will apply individually with their project must apply by
creating a one-person team through the team creation module on the CMS portal.
• There must be a team captain in the team. Our competitors who make individual
applications should choose the team role as the team captain.
• During the competition, the level of education you have chosen while creating a
team will be considered during the period you apply. You should pay attention to
this when choosing your education level.
• Between the application dates, the team captain/advisor (if any) registers through
the system, the advisor (if any) and/or the team captain creates the registration of
the team members correctly and completely in the system and sends invitations to
the e-mails of the members. The member to whom the invitation is sent accepts the
invitation from the ‘My team information’ section by logging into the application
system and the registration process is completed. Otherwise, the registration
process will not be completed.

3.2. Advisor Obligations

• Advisor conditions; As a advisor, teachers / academicians working in education /


training institutions or engineers / experts etc. who continue their career life in the
relevant field can take part in the team as a advisor.
• The person who will serve as an advisor must upload the document stating that
they will fulfil their advisory duties to the system with wet signature on the date to
be announced by the TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee.
• Teams at primary, secondary and high school levels are required to apply through
their advisors and come to the competition area with their advisors.
• University and above competitors do not have to come to the final stage with their
advisors. If there is a team counsellor in the university and above level applications,
it is obligatory to send a counselling document.
• The duty of the counsellor is to help students to plan their own education, to guide
them in academic, social and cultural issues, to help prepare the appropriate
environment for the development of the student's personality as a whole in terms
of mental, social and emotional aspects, etc. duties and services.
• The role of the counsellor in the team is to guide the team members to find solutions
to their problems by providing the academic support needed in the preparation of
the project preliminary form and project presentation.
• The advisor undertakes to support the team until the final stage and to be with the
team during the final stage.
• The advisors of the teams at primary, secondary and high school level must be
present with their team at the final stage, and the advisors who cannot participate
in the final stage due to force majeure must send a petition to the TEKNOFEST
Competitions unit to [email protected] e-mail address.

3.3. Process Information
• All notifications to be made by the TEKNOFEST competitions committee during
the competition process will be made to the person designated by the team as the
communication officer. For this reason, each team must designate a contact
person. (Notification is made to the e-mail address registered in CMS).
• The follow-up of the processes (Application, Form Date to be filled in, Appeal
Process, etc.) is the duty of the communication officer and TEKNOFEST
competitions committee is not responsible for delays and / or disruptions caused
by the communication officer.
• All necessary processes within the scope of the competition (Application,
Form/Presentation Receipt, Results, Form/Presentation Financial Support
Application, Objection Processes, Member addition / removal processes, etc.) are
carried out through the CMS system. Teams are required to follow the processes
through the CMS portal.
• During the competition process, application, form filling and objection process
procedures are within the authority of the team captain and/or advisor and the
competition processes are managed through these persons.
• Member additions/removals are made until the deadline of the project presentation
to be made online. No changes can be made to the teams after the submission of
the presentation.
• Transport and accommodation support to be provided to the finalist teams is
limited. The number of people to be supported is maximum 3 people per team
(including the advisor) and TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee has the right to
make changes. This article should be taken into consideration when forming a
team.
• TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee has the authority to limit the number
of members in the festival area. In case of limitation, the committee will be
informed by the committee.
• Teams consisting of primary and secondary school students will compete among
themselves, teams consisting of high school students will compete among
themselves, teams consisting of university and higher-level students and
graduates will compete among themselves.
• Competitors who have completed the team formation process must apply to the
competition suitable for their project.
• Competitors who have completed the application process are responsible for
preparing and uploading their forms/presentation to the system in full until the
Preliminary Evaluation Form deadline specified in the competition schedule,
without being subjected to any elimination process. Teams that fail to upload the
form/presentation to the system within the specified period will be deemed
eliminated at this stage.

3.4. Applications Principles
Applications will be received through the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and
Technology Festival Technology Competitions official website (www.teknofest.org).
Applications are made online via the www.t3kys.com application system until
15.01.2025.
The competitor will be able to participate in the competition by reading and approving
all explanations about the competition and the conditions of participation before
applying.
Those who apply to the competition are deemed to have accepted all the
conditions in the specification.

5. SCORING AND EVALUATION


The evaluation will be made in three different stages; Project Preliminary Form, Project
Presentation and Competition Final Scoring. Teams that do not upload the Project
Preliminary Evaluation Form and Project Presentations will not be eligible to participate
in the competition.
The form must be filled in via the CMS system until the day and time specified in the
programme. The objection process is notified to the teams via e-mail by the
TEKNOFEST competitions committee after the results are announced. The
TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee has the right to make changes in the schedule
and times. After the application, a ‘pre-selection’ process will be carried out with the
Preliminary Evaluation Forms sent by the teams.
In this pre-qualification process, the forms they have sent will be examined in terms of
the suitability of the project subject scope and a decision will be made to evaluate the
preliminary form and invalid or incorrect applications will be eliminated. The project that
will be eliminated due to invalid or incorrect application has no right of appeal.

5.1. Project Preliminary Evaluation Form


At this evaluation stage, teams of all educational levels (primary school,
secondary school, high school, university and above) must fill in the Preliminary
Evaluation Form.
Teams are obliged to fill in the Project Preliminary Evaluation Forms on the date
specified in the competition schedule. Detailed information about the Project
Preliminary Evaluation Forms will be shared with the teams that have completed their
applications after the end of the competition application date. A preliminary evaluation
will be carried out according to the results of the Project Preliminary Evaluation Forms.
As a result of the preliminary evaluation, the teams that pass to the second stage will
be announced on the date specified in the competition schedule (Table 3).

5.1.1. Project Preliminary Evaluation Form Objection
Period
Teams will have the right to appeal if they receive a maximum of 25 points below the
threshold score as a result of the form evaluation. Appeals are received via CMS within
48 hours after the form results are announced. Appeals must be made by the team
counsellor or team captain. Objections not submitted within the specified period will
not be evaluated. Team appeals will be sent to different referee committees and re-
evaluated. You can find detailed information about the appeal process in the general
rules. Teams that do not successfully pass the objection stage have the right of high
objection. For your high appeal application, you must send an e-mail to
[email protected] with your appeal reasons and petition to us according to the
criteria specified in TEKNOFEST Competitions Appeal Regulations. You can find
detailed information about the high appeal process in the general rules.

5.2. Project Presentation (Semi Final)


At this evaluation stage, teams at all educational levels (primary school,
secondary school, high school, university and above) must upload their
presentations.
Teams that pass to the project presentation stage are obliged to submit their
presentations on the date specified in the competition schedule. Project presentations
will be evaluated online. You can access the templates and requirements of the
presentation on the TEKNOFEST website. Online presentation dates and times will be
determined for the teams that deliver their presentations in accordance with the
schedule and the required criteria. The relevant team is obliged to make its
presentation on the specified date and time. According to the results of the online
presentation, the teams that qualify for the final will be announced on the date specified
in the competition schedule.
Teams that successfully complete the semi-final stage will be entitled to compete in
TEKNOFEST finals and receive financial support. Teams that are successful according
to the online presentation results will be entitled to receive financial support if they have
applied for financial support, at this stage, the financial support form to be sent via the
CMS portal must be filled in, the date for the financial support form will be determined
by the TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee and the notification will be made via the
e-mail address of the contact person registered to CMS. It is not obligatory to apply for
financial support.

5.2.1. Project Presentations Objection Period


Teams will have the right to appeal if they receive a maximum of 25 points below the
threshold score as a result of the presentation evaluation. Presentation objections are
received via CMS within 48 hours after the presentation results are announced.
Appeals must be made by the team advisor or team captain. Objections not submitted
within the specified period will not be taken into consideration. Team appeals will be
sent to different referee committees and re-evaluated. You can find detailed
information about the appeal process in the general rules. Teams that do not

successfully pass the objection stage have the right of high appeal. For your high
appeal application, you must send an e-mail to [email protected] with your appeal
reasons and petition to us according to the criteria specified in TEKNOFEST
Competitions Appeal Regulations. You can find detailed information about the high
appeal process in the general rules.

5.3. Scoring of the Competition


The final score of the participant’s project will be 10% the Project Preliminary
Evaluation Form, 20% the Project Presentation and 70% the Prototype and Final
Presentation Scoring.
The table below indicates the scoring types and percentages. Forman Online
Presentation scores will constitute 30% of the total score.

5.4 Scoring Prototype and Final Presentation


The prototype (first sample) is a concrete representation of the product or process that
will emerge after the project. This is the most primitive form of the final product. At this
stage, competitors are expected to prepare prototypes that can clearly express the
functionality and concept of the project. They should include functional models made
of cardboard, LEGO, etc., screenshots, interface designs or simulations, visuals,
analyses and descriptions supported by reports.
Details for the jury presentations will be shared after the finalists have been selected.
Detailed information about the competition environment requirements, the competitors'
showing their prototypes to the jury and visual presentations will be shared with the
finalist teams after the finalist teams are determined. Final presentations must be made
by the team members, it is not allowed for the advisors to make presentations. In the
final stage, teams are required to prepare a poster for visual presentations and
information about the size and content of the poster will be provided by the
TEKNOFEST Competitions Committee in the coming days. According to the final
evaluations, the final ranking of the finalist teams will be announced on the website
www.teknofest.org after the TEKNOFEST Competition final.

6. AWARDS
As a result of the separate evaluation in three stages of the competition, cash prizes
will be awarded to the teams that pass the all stages and reach the final in their own
category and rank in the final evaluation. The awards specified in the table below show
the total amount to be given to the teams that are entitled to receive awards, no

individual awards will be made. The first, second and third prizes will be divided equally
according to the total number of current team members (not including the advisor) in
your team in CMS and will be deposited into the bank account specified by each
competitor during the application. ‘Advisor Award’ will be paid to the advisor of the
team that ranks within the scope of the competition.

6.1. Best Presentation Award


It is the award given to the teams that aim to finalize their tasks undertaken in the field
of the competition and their business plans in the best way, regardless of whether they
achieve a degree in this purpose or not, to the teams that best reflect the criteria such
as time, correct answers to questions, body language, attitude towards the audience,
fluency of the presentation, presentation draft. As a team, evaluation will be made
based on these criteria.
The Best Presentation award will be given to one team from each education level.
The specified award is for prestige purposes and has no material equivalent.

6.2. Commercialization Potential Award


The Commercialization Potential Award will be given to the team with the highest
commercialization potential among the finalists, based on the criteria of ease of
implementation of the project, absence of uncertainties and risks regarding the
production of the final product, ability to be produced with existing technology and
equipment, and marketability and presentation if the output of the project is a service
product.
The Commercialization Potential Award will be given to a team at High School
and University level and above.
The specified award is for prestige purposes and has no financial value.

9. STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY
T3 Foundation and TEKNOFEST are not responsible in any way for any injury or
damage caused by any product delivered by the participants or by any participant. T3
Foundation and organization officials are not responsible for any damage caused by
the participants to 3rd parties. T3 Foundation and TEKNOFEST are not responsible
for ensuring that the teams prepare and implement their own systems within the
framework of the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.
Türkiye Technology Team Foundation reserves the right to make any changes to these
specifications.

10. CONTACT
For questions about the competition, you can join the competition group from the Social
Innovation page on the TEKNOFEST website. It is the responsibility of the competitors
to actively follow this group and at least 1 person from each team to follow the
announcements, questions and answers in this group as a member. TEKNOFEST
Competitions Committee is not responsible for the inability of the teams to access up-
