9. The ratio of the sums of first m terms and first n terms of an A.P. is m2 : n2. Show
that the ratio of its mth and nth terms is (2m – 1) : (2n – 1).
10. The houses of a row are numbered consecutively from 1 to 49. Show that there is a
value of x such that the sum of the numbers of the houses preceding the house
numbered x is equal to the sum of the numbers of the houses following it. Find this
value of x.
SECTION – E (4 Marks Case Study)
11. Aahana being a plant lower decides to convert her balcony into beautiful garden full
of plants. She bought few plants with pots for her balcony. She placed the pots
insuch a way that number of pots in the first row is 2, second row is 5, third row is
8 and so on.
Based on the above information, answer the following questions:
(i) Find the number of pots placed in the 10th row.
(ii) Find the difference in the number of pots placed in 5th row and 2nd row.
(iii) (a) If Aahana wants to place 100 pots in total. Then find the totall number of
rows formed in the arrangement.
OR
(b) If Aahana has sufficient space for 12 rows, then how many total number
of pots are placed by her with the same arraangement?
