Concept Outline:: 1) Overview of The Report

This report outlines the process of selecting a business for Enterprise coursework, focusing on two options: a PS5 gaming event and a home-baked food stall. The gaming event aims to attract students with a FIFA competition, while the food stall will offer popular baked goods at affordable prices. Surveys indicate strong interest in both concepts, but considerations around costs, competition, and regulations are crucial for successful implementation.

Title: Identifying a suitable project

Reported to: Ms. Niya Anna Andrews

Reported by: Zaid Majed Omar Himo

1) Overview of the report

The purpose of this report is to show the process I went through to determine which business to start for
my Enterprise coursework. I looked in detail at two possible options in order to choose one. Considering
whether it was viable, profitable, or if I have what it requires starting the business.

2) Analysis of possible choices

Option 1 –PS5 Gaming(including environmentally friendly recyclable bin and more)

Concept outline:
I’m planning a PS5 gaming event where students can join for a fee of 2 BD and enjoy some drinks. We’ll
have a FIFA competition, and the winner will take home a cash prize of 10 BD. To make this happen, I’ll
provide the PS5 console and set up a tournament bracket for 16 participants to help ensure profitability.
Those interested in competing will pay the 2 BD entry fee. The goal of the event is to create a fun and
competitive atmosphere for students while also generating a good profit.
2.1.2 Data analysis:

I conducted a survey with a group of 35 people to determine how many people would be interested in
participating in my FIFA competition and whether they would be willing to pay to play. The competition
mostly focuses on FIFA, a game that is competitive and fun, as well as their are other gaming options. For
those who like games like Call of Duty, we ensure that photosensitive players are informed about
potential risks to their mental and emotional well-being as well as you have to be 14 years old to play this
game.. In addition to FIFA, the competition will feature games such as Injustice (superhero-themed),
older FIFA editions, and basketball games like NBA 2K24 and NBA 2K25.My results were:

These results show that around 71% of the possible customers say they would pay to play in the FIFA
competition or pay to play Call of duty 6 if I started this enterprise. This shows me there is high demand
for gaming experience. Later on the 5 people who said maybe said they would prefer to purchase ps5,
ps4 games. This data is reliable as I asked teens to older teens from ages from 14-18 if they would want
to pay to play most care about the gaming experience.

Later I did the same survey in three different areas of my town:

These are the 3 survey questions I asked:

1.Blue “Would you be willing to pay a small entry fee to participate in a FIFA tournament?”

2.Red “Do you prefer tournaments with physical prizes (e.g., games, consoles) over cash
prizes?”

3.Green “How important is the quality of gaming equipment (e.g., PS5 console, large
screens) in deciding to join a tournament?”
This means I will have to think about where I promote my FIFA PS5
tournament. 80% of the people in schools said they would be interested in
paying an entry fee, and over 70% also valued quality gaming equipment.
In high-density areas, 70% of people showed interest in participating, but
only 60% preferred physical prizes like games or consoles. This could
mean I need to focus on prizes and the tournament experience in these
areas. Whereas in low-density areas, interest was slightly lower, with 50-
55% of people willing to join and valuing physical prizes or equipment. This
helps me decide where to advertise, and what parts of the tournament to
focus on to get more people interested. 2.1.3 Analysis – PEST, SWOT
PEST
Political:
1. School Policies and Regulations: My school has specific rules about any project, especially related
to gaming or entertainment. This year commers week has a rule to be environmentally friendly meaning
go green. This allows us to protect and come together as a community to reduce pollution.
2. Data Protection & Privacy Concerns: When collecting personal information from students. Our
school always advises us to do it in an unharmful way or in a way that is contrary to the project at hand.
Economic:
1.Student Budget: The situation of my target audience the (students) will influence how much they
are willing to spend. If the students in multinational school have limited disposable income, I may
need to adjust pricing to make it affordable and attractive so that profit may exceed expectations.

2.Costs of Equipment: The upfront costs for the PS5 console, games, and accessories can be
significant. A plan is needed to ensure profit PS5 will not be a problem as it is already

3.External Competition: If other businesses or stalls at the event offer cheaper or more enticing
alternatives, it could impact your sales. You'll need to differentiate your offering, perhaps through
special discounts or unique gaming experiences.

Social:
 Student Interest in Gaming: Gaming culture is widely popular, especially among young people.
The level of interest among students will significantly affect the success of your stall. If gaming is
a popular activity at your school, you’re more likely to attract a large number of customers.

 Peer Influence: Social trends among your peers could affect how many students come to your
stall. If gaming is seen as a fun, social activity, word-of-mouth could drive more people to check it
out.
 Accessibility: Consider inclusivity in your stall, ensuring it’s accessible and appealing to a broad
range of students, including those who may not normally engage with gaming.

Technological
Availability of Technology: Your business relies on having functional PS5 consoles, games, and
controllers. Technological issues like hardware malfunctions or internet connectivity problems could
negatively affect your operation. You’ll need to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and ready for
use.
Payment Systems: Consider the technological aspect of handling payments. Digital payment methods
like mobile apps or cashless systems (if allowed by the school) could make transactions more convenient
for students.
Gaming Preferences: New games and technological advancements could affect which games are most
popular. Keeping up with trends in the gaming world will help you attract more customers.

2.1.4 Critical analysis

Option 2 – Home baked foods(of all kind)

2.2.1: idea outline
Running a home baked food stall where customers may buy discounted packages of cookies, brownies,
cupcakes, and other items and offering fresh and inexpensive treats is my second idea. This is a
reasonable and inexpensive concept that may be very effective for Commerce Week. The aim is to offer
excellent products beloved by both teachers and pupils. I would have straightforward but attractive
packaging to entice clients.
2.2.2 : Study results:
I did a survey to discover food preferences according to possible customers. I asked people to tell me
their favorite foods between cookies, brownies, pizza slices and Cupcakes. This option is risky
because there could be a lot of money on the line.
This indicates that cookies are the preferred choice, next to cupcakes. Brownies are somewhat less
favored; my least favorite choice is pizza slices. Nevertheless, given that the items vary only a bit in
popularity, including all four alternatives on the menu, it would be advantageous. The information is
trustworthy since it is from staff and students to those who represent the queue's chief patrons.

2.2.3 Analysis – PEST, SWOT

Pest analysis
Political:
1. Health and safety issues- regulations regarding sanitation and food safety, especially when being
prepared on the cart and not in a kitchen.
2. Restricted zones – these zones often include potential lucrative areas where food businesses are
allowed to operate.
3. Mobile food vendor permit – has exact descriptions of what is expected and who to contact if
there are any questions. Fees vary depending on the city.
4. Public property bans – such as on the streets and sidewalks need to contract with private
property owners to vend on their property.
Economic:
1. Food will have to be cheap because people cannot afford it if it is too expensive and would rather
go somewhere else where it is cheaper
