AZAD SAHODAYA DEBATE COMPETITION 2024

JHABUA DISTRICT
CBSE SCHOOLS

1. Participation: All the CBSE school members of Azad Sahodaya committee are eligible to participate. Interested
schools will have to register for the same.

2. Topic for the debate : “ AI will have a net positive impact on society “

3. Team: Every school must prepare a team of 4 interlocutors consisting two speakers for the motion and two, against
the motion.

Format: a) Every school will pick a chit to decide the sequence of the presentation.
b) Sequence wise first both the speakers for the motion and then against.
c) Speakers will have a maximum of 5 minutes to present their arguments.
d) At Least three arguments to be included in the content of the speaker.
e) Final round, rebuttal: All the speakers for the motion will gather on the stage and judges will represent
their questions to the debaters one by one in the order decided. And then the speakers against the motion shall follow the
same pattern for rebuttal.

4: Conduction of debate:

1 Opening Introduction by the Principal, Host school.


2 Introduction of Judges for the day.
3 Introducing the participating schools and the speakers (Team of 04 speakers)
4 Sequence through chits
5 Round 1:Presentation of all the four speakers school wise.
6 Round 2: Rebuttal round: Judges will ask questions from the students, for the motion then against the motion.
7 Judgment criteria:

Marks may be awarded as per the following criteria out of the marks allocated against each category

The average of the marks awarded by all judges should be calculated. The average marks thus calculated shall be the final
score for a particular Candidate on the basis of which whosoever has scored the highest will be declared winner, second &
third highest scorers will be declared as first and second runner-up of the event

8 Time Limit Each participant will be given a time limit not exceeding 05 minutes to speak on the subject.
9 The Dress Code will be School uniform.

Miscellaneous
1. The decision of the judges as regards the result of the competition will be the final and binding;
2. All participants are expected to maintain decorum, where the event will be held.
