India Must Grow 7.8% Annually to Achieve High-Income Status by 2047: World

  The World Bank released its latest report titled ‘India Country Economic
Memorandum, titled ‘Becoming a High-Income Economy in a
Generation’.
 र्वश्व बैंक ने ‘भरित दे श आर्थिक ज्ञरपन’ शीर्िक से अपनी नवीनतम रिपोटि जरिी की,
र्जसकर शीर्िक है ‘एक पीढ़ी में उच्च आय वरली अथिव्यवस्थर बननर’।
 As per the report, India will need to grow by 7.8% on average over the
next 22 years to achieve India’s ambitious target of reaching High-
Income Nation (HIN) status by 2047.
 रिपोटि के अनुसरि, भरित को 2047 तक उच्च आय वरले िरष्ट्र (एचआईएन) कर दजरि प्ररप्त

 The report highlighted that this target is achievable due to India’s strong
growth averaging 6.3% between 2000 and 2024.

 The Report has recommended to increase both private and public
investment from 33.5% to 40% of GDP by 2035.

 As per the report, India has the potential to take advantage of its
demographic dividend by making investments in human capital, creating
enabling conditions for more and better jobs and increasing female LFP
rates from 35.6% to 50% by 2047.

RBI’s Update on the Exchange and Deposit of ₹2000 Notes

 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that 98.18% of the ₹2,000
banknotes in circulation have been returned to the banking system,
leaving only ₹6,471 crore worth of such notes still held by the public.
 भरितीय रिजवि बैंक (आिबीआई) ने घोर्णर की है र्क प्रचलन में िहे 2,000 रुपये के
98.18% नोट बैंर्कांग प्रणरली में वरपस आ गए हैं , र्जससे जनतर के परस अब केवल
6,471 किोड़ रुपये मूल्य के नोट ही बचे हैं ।
 The central bank provided an update on the status of ₹2,000 notes,
which were withdrawn from circulation on May 19, 2023.
 केंिीय बैंक ने 2,000 रुपये के नोटोां की ब्लस्थर्त पि अद्यतन जरनकरिी प्रदरन की, र्जन्हें
19 मई, 2023 को प्रचलन से वरपस ले र्लयर गयर।
 At the time of the announcement, the total value of these high-
denomination notes in circulation stood at ₹3.56 lakh crore.

 Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) Yojana, a

landmark initiative led by Government of India (GoI) which aimed to
provide financial security to millions of unorganized workers in
India.
 प्रिरनमांत्री श्रम योगी मरनिन (पीएम-एसवरईएम) योजनर, भरित सिकरि
(जीओआई) की अगु वरई में एक ऐर्तहरर्सक पहल है र्जसकर उद्दे श्य भरित में
लरखोां असांगर्ठत श्रर्मकोां को र्वत्तीय सुिक्षर प्रदरन किनर है ।
 The scheme is specially designed for workers in the unorganised
sectors who contribute 50% of the country’s Gross Domestic
Product (GDP).

for workers who are employed in the unorganised sector and

based on the age at the time of enrolment for instance: if the
age of worker at entry is 18 years, then, he/she is required to

Pension spouse is entitled to receive 50% of the pension amount as a
family pension
Age Minimum age required for workers to enroll in the scheme
Requirement should be 18 years and not be more than 40 years.

DRDO Conducts High-Altitude Trial of Integrated Life Support System for

 The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has

successfully conducted high-altitude trials of an indigenous life support
system for pilots onboard Tejas light combat aircraft.

 The defence ministry said cutting-edge life support systems have been
designed to generate and regulate breathable oxygen for pilots during
flight, eliminating dependence on traditional cylinder-based oxygen.

Aditya-L1 Captures First-Ever Image of a Solar Flare ‘Kernel’

 India’s Aditya-L1 mission has captured a unique solar event. The

spacecraft recorded the first-ever image of a solar flare ‘kernel.’

 This rare observation was made in the lower solar atmosphere.

 Aditya-L1 was launched on 2 September 2023. It was placed in a
special orbit on 6 January 2024.
 आर्दत्य-एल1 को 2 र्सतां बि 2023 को प्रक्षेर्पत र्कयर गयर। इसे 6 जनविी 2024
को र्वशेर् कक्षर में स्थरर्पत र्कयर गयर।
 This orbit, called Lagrange Point L1, is 1.5 million km from Earth.
From this location, Aditya-L1 can observe the Sun continuously.

Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (SUIT) played a key role in the
discovery.

 SUIT recorded the solar flare in the Near Ultraviolet (NUV) band. It
can capture images in 11 different wavelengths.
