 Report Summary

The main objective of the Workshop was to familiarize participants with the emerging ideas and trends on Recent
Advancement in RF and Microwave field. The workshop aimed to interact participants with experts of same field
to enhance their knowledge and research skills in the same platform from all over the world. The workshop
started on 5th April at 10:00 AM with Welcome note for Dignitary and Participants by the Prof. Rama Komaragiri
(HOD ECE, BU) and Workshop Organizer Dr. Arjun Kumar (Asst. Prof. ECE, BU). Dr. Debajyoti
Mukhopadhyay (Dean SEAS BU) give the Welcome Speech to the participants. The inaugural speech is given
by Dr. Prabhu Kumar Aggarwal (VC BU) and Vote of Thanks by Mr. Swapnil Gaul (Director, Numeregion
Pvt. Ltd).

The Day 1 I session started with “Antenna Arrays” by Prof. R.K. Shevagonakar (IIT Bombay) to gives
the various ideas to improve the gain of antenna using array. The II session was presented by Prof. K. V. Srivastav
(IIT Kanpur) about new research idea i.e., a “Design and Development of Broadband Optically Transparent
Microwave Absorbers”.

On Day 2 Dr. Jose Rodrigo Camacho Perez (Scientist in Intel Lab Mexico) continued I sessions with
“Communications with 5G”. He gives the idea about the practical approach in 5G communication. The I session
is continued with the next guest, Dr. Ashok Kumar (Asst. Prof. in Govt. Women Engg. College Ajmer). His
lecturer is about “Circularly Polarized Antenna for 5G Applications” with the example of various published
papers. The II session was on “Fully Printed Flexible and Wearable RF Electronics” by Prof. Atif Shamim
(KAUST, Saudi Arabia). His talk is very interesting for the participants due to its novelty.

In the Day 3 Dr. Goutam Chattopadhyay (Scientist in JPL, NASA, USA) started I session with another
interesting topic “Are we Alone?”. He shares the information with the participants about Mars. He gives the
idea how the NASA work for different space missions. The II session was demonstrated by the India’s youngest
scientist Mr. Swapnil Gaul (NUMEREGION Pvt. Ltd.). He develops an India’s first EM Wave Simulator
TaraNG. His talk is related to the software and its Applications in Education & Research.

The Day 4 is started with Prof. Cynthia Furse (University of Utah, USA) gives a presentation on “Arc
& Sparks: Finding faults on live wires”. Her talk was very innovative as it is a new application of RF and
Microwave field. The II session was on “RF Power Amplifiers”. demonstrated by Dr. Sukwinder Singh (NIT
Jalandhar) explains all type of RF amplifiers and its applications very well.

In Day 5 I sessions were taken by Dr. Tushar Sharma (RF Design Engg. Renesas Elec., USA) with topic
“GaN Game Changer”. In his talk he explains the role of GaN in RF and Microwave field. The II session was
taken by Dr. Kushmanda Saurav (IIT Jammu) demonstrated “Transmission type linear to circular polarization
converters” with the help of various research publications.

Last session was Feedback and Valedictory. The Valedictory session was graced by Prof. Rama
Komaragiri Head of ECE Department Bennett University. He congratulates all for participation and successful
completion of the entire programme and assure all the people that these types of events will be organized by ECE
Department in future also. Dr. Arjun Kumar coordinator of event also thanks to all guests for giving their precious
time share knowledge with all participants from all over the world. The Vote of Thanks is given by Mr Swapnil
Gaul coordinator of event to all participants to attend this workshop and make it a successful event.

Outcomes: The participants had indepth understanding of various advancements and research progress in the
field of RF and microwave devices.
