GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION

How can you know for sure you will spend eternity with
God? Here’s what the Bible says.

GOD’S POWER
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the
power of God for salvation to everyone who believes”
(Romans 1:16a). God is the power, source, and reward in
salvation. Because we are powerless in our sin, God steps
in to rescue us.

OUR PROBLEM
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
(Romans 3:23). Sin means missing the mark and falling
short of perfection. Because of our imperfection, we cannot
stand before a holy God.

OUR PUNISHMENT
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal
life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Sin separates
us from God and sentences us to death.

GOD’S PROVISION
“But God proves his own love for us in that while we were
still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Though we
deserve eternal death, God has made a way for us to be
rescued through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus.

OUR RESPONSE
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe
in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved” (Romans 10:9). To confess Jesus as Lord means we
agree with God about our sin and need for salvation. We
must repent and trust only in the work of Jesus to save us.
