LESSON PLAN FOR MATHEMATICS 2
MEASUREMENT AND GEOMETRY: MEASURING OBJECTS USING APPROPRIATE
MEASURING TOOLS AND UNIT OF LENGTH IN METER AND CENTIMETER
Date March 15, 2025
I. Content Measurements, comparison, and estimation of length and distance using appropriate
Standards tools and units.
Performance
Measure, compare, and estimate, length and distance using appropriate units.
Standards
1. measure and compare lengths of objects, in meters (m) or centimeters (cm), and
distance in meters, using appropriate measuring tools.
2. identify and use the appropriate unit (m or cm) to measure the length of an object
Competency
and the distance between two locations.
3. estimate length using meters or centimeters, and distance using meters.
4. solve problems involving length and distance.
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
Objectives [Link] unit of length in m or cm.
2. elaborate the measures length using meter or centimeter; and
[Link] the object using ruler.

4. Motivation:
“Long & Short song”
The teacher instructs the pupils to sing along with the song present on the screen.
5. Development of the Lesson
Brief Discussion
Measurement is crucial because it allows us to quantify and understand the world
around us. In;
-Communication
-problem solving
-decision making
A. ACTIVITY
1. Organize students into a group of 2.
2. Let the member choose a leader..
3. Instruct the class the sequence of the game.
4. Line the two group.
“Message Relay”
Instruction: The game typically involves dividing participants into teams. A message, often a
sentence or phrase, is given to the first person in each team. This person then whispers the
message to the next person in line, who then whispers it to the next, and so on, until it reaches the
last person. The final person then announces the message they received.
(Words)
-centimeter
-long
-ruler
-small
-meter
-length
B. ANALYSIS:
What thing did you observed on the words that given?
How can you tell the short object?
How can you tell the long object?
C. ABSTRACTION:

Centimeter (cm) are the units used to measure shorter lengths.
D. APPLICATION:
1. Organize students into a group of 2.
2. Distribute the answer flag.
3. Instruct the class the sequence of the game.
4. Line the two group.
5. Count 5 sec. every slide shown an two object that they need to guess that is it long
short.
“Am I long? Or Short”
Instruction: The teacher divides the class into two, and the teacher provides a flag that
contains an answer. The answer option is the "cm" centimeter flag and the "m" meter
flag. They need to answer quickly before 5 seconds, and the group gets a huge score and
a reward.
Direction: Raise the flag “cm” if you guess the object is short and raise the flag “m” if the
object is long.
