The British exclude the Indians from all high civil and military jobs.

Outcome

The revolt was completely suppressed and crushed by July 1858.


The last ruler of Mughal Bahadur Shah Zafar surrendered to the British.
Causes Of Failure Of The Revolt

Feudal in character.
Leaders lacked military skills.
Lack of unity
The native princes didn’t join the revolt.
Poorly organised.
Impact Of The Revolt

Indian administration was transferred from East India Company to The crown by
the Government of Indian Act 1858.
