The More Man Gets, The More He Wants

Once upon a time, in a distant village, there lived a wealthy merchant named Karim. He had vast lands, overflowing
wealth, and everything a person could wish for. However, no matter how much he had, it was never enough. He
always craved more riches, more power, and more land. One day, he heard about a strange opportunity—there was
a piece of land where a person could claim as much as he could walk in a single day. But there was a condition—he
had to return to the starting point before sunset, or he would lose everything. Greedy for more land, Karim eagerly
took the challenge.

At dawn, he began walking, claiming more and more land as he went. With each step, his greed pushed him to go
farther. He saw fertile fields, flowing rivers, and vast forests—all of which could be his. He walked tirelessly under the
scorching sun, forgetting about food, water, and even his own health. The sun slowly moved toward the horizon, and
he realized he had ventured too far. Panic set in, but greed still urged him forward. As the sun neared its descent, he
turned back, running as fast as he could. His heart pounded, his legs ached, but he pushed himself forward.

Just as he reached the starting point, the sun dipped below the horizon. Exhausted, Karim collapsed to the ground
and breathed his last. The villagers, who had gathered to watch, buried him in a small grave—just six feet long.
Despite all his wealth and desire, in the end, he only needed a small piece of land to rest forever. The story

Failure is the Pillar of Success

Once, in a small town, there lived a young boy named Rafiq. From a young age, he dreamed of becoming a great
scientist. He loved experimenting, but most of his attempts ended in failure. His classmates mocked him, calling him
foolish, and even his teachers doubted his abilities. Frustrated and disheartened, he thought about giving up. One
day, his teacher told him the story of Thomas Edison, the famous inventor who failed a thousand times before finally
inventing the light bulb. Inspired by this, Rafiq decided that he would not let failure stop him.

Every time an experiment failed, he studied his mistakes, learned from them, and tried again. He spent countless
nights reading, researching, and testing his ideas. Even when people laughed at him, he did not stop. Years passed,
2

and his persistence started paying off. He finally discovered a new chemical reaction that caught the attention of
scientists. His work was recognized, and he was invited to a prestigious science fair.

Eventually, he became a renowned scientist, proving everyone who doubted him wrong. His success was not an
accident—it was built upon years of failures. Looking back, Rafiq realized that every mistake had taught him
something valuable. His failures had become the stepping stones to his success. This story teaches us that failure is
not the end; rather, it is a lesson that helps us move forward. True success comes from perseverance and learning
from mistakes.

There is a will there is a way

Once in a small village, a boy named Arif lived with his poor family. Despite financial struggles, he had a dream—to
become a doctor and help the sick. However, his village lacked proper schools, and his family could not afford his
education. Many people told him to give up, but Arif was determined. He studied under streetlights, borrowed books
from friends, and worked odd jobs to save money. Even when he failed, he refused to lose hope and kept trying.

One day, a kind teacher noticed his dedication and decided to help him. The teacher gave him free lessons and
encouraged him to sit for a scholarship exam. Arif worked harder than ever, waking up early and studying late at
night. His determination paid off—he secured a full scholarship to a prestigious medical college.

Life at the college was not easy. Arif had to balance his studies while doing part-time jobs to support himself. There
were moments when he felt exhausted and wanted to quit, but he reminded himself why he had started. With
patience and perseverance, he completed his education and became a doctor. Instead of choosing a high-paying job
in the city, he returned to his village and opened a clinic to serve the poor. His struggles had shaped him into a kind
and hardworking person.

Arif’s journey teaches us a valuable lesson: no obstacle is too big if we have the determination to overcome it. Hard
work, patience, and a strong will can lead to success, no matter how difficult the journey. His story proves that where
there is a will, there is always a way.

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Once upon a time, in a dense forest, a proud hare and a slow-moving tortoise lived among other animals.
The hare was famous for his speed, while the tortoise was often mocked for being slow. One day, the hare
boasted that no one could ever defeat him in a race. Tired of his arrogance, the tortoise calmly challenged
him. The entire forest gathered to watch the race.

As the race began, the hare sprinted far ahead within minutes. Looking back, he saw the tortoise moving at a
slow and steady pace. Confident of his victory, the hare laughed and decided to rest under a tree, thinking he
had plenty of time to finish later. However, he soon fell into a deep sleep.
3

Meanwhile, the tortoise, determined and focused, kept moving without stopping. He never hurried, but he
never gave up either. As time passed, he slowly but surely neared the finish line. When the hare woke up, he
saw the tortoise almost at the end. Panicked, he ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise had
already crossed the finish line and won the race.

The animals cheered for the tortoise while the hare stood there in disbelief. He had lost because of his
overconfidence and carelessness. The tortoise, on the other hand, had won because of his perseverance and
determination.

This story teaches us that consistency and patience are more important than speed alone. Rushing through
life without discipline can lead to failure, while slow but steady effort brings success.

Nobody Believes a Liar

Once, in a small village, there lived a young boy named Rahim. He was known for being mischievous and
loved playing pranks on people. His favorite trick was to falsely shout for help. One day, he decided to trick
the villagers by pretending that a tiger was attacking his sheep. He ran through the village screaming, “Help!
A tiger is coming!” The villagers, alarmed, rushed to his aid, only to find him laughing.

The villagers warned him not to lie, but Rahim ignored them. A few days later, he played the same trick
again, and the villagers came running, only to be fooled once more. This continued for some time, and soon,
people stopped believing his words.

One evening, as Rahim was tending to his sheep near the forest, a real tiger appeared. Terrified, he screamed
for help, “Help! A tiger is attacking my sheep!” But this time, no one came. The villagers, remembering his
past lies, assumed it was another trick. The tiger attacked the sheep, and Rahim barely escaped.

Heartbroken and ashamed, Rahim realized his mistake. His habit of lying had destroyed his credibility, and
when he truly needed help, no one trusted him. He returned to the village and apologized to everyone,
vowing never to lie again.

This story teaches us that honesty is crucial. When someone lies repeatedly, they lose the trust of others.
Even when they tell the truth, people won’t believe them. Therefore, it is important to always be truthful, as
trust, once broken, is difficult to regain.

Unity is Strength
Once upon a time, in a peaceful village, there lived an old farmer who had four sons. He worked hard all his
life to provide for them and wanted them to take care of the farm after him. However, the sons were always
quarreling over small matters. They were jealous of one another and never worked together. This worried
the farmer greatly. He knew that if they did not learn to stay united, they would never succeed in life.

One day, the farmer decided to teach them a lesson. He called his sons and gave them a bundle of sticks tied
together. “Break this,” he instructed. Each son tried with all his strength, but none of them could break the
bundle. Then the farmer untied the sticks and gave each son a single stick. This time, they broke the sticks
with ease.
4

The father looked at them and said, “See, my sons? Alone, you are weak, but together, you are strong. If you
always fight among yourselves, others will take advantage of you, and you will lose everything. But if you
stand united, no one can defeat you.”

The sons understood their mistake. They stopped fighting and started working together on the farm. With
their combined efforts, they made the land more fertile and productive than ever before. The village people
admired them, and they became successful farmers.

This story teaches us that unity is strength. If we are divided, we are weak, but if we stay together, we can
overcome any obstacle. Whether in family, friendship, or society, unity leads to progress and success.

Bayazid’s Love for His Mother

Once, in a small town, there lived a boy named Bayazid Bostami. He was known for his kindness,
intelligence, and deep love for his mother. His mother was a widow who had sacrificed everything to raise
him with good values.

One night, his mother suddenly woke up feeling very thirsty. She called out to Bayazid and asked for a glass
of water. The young boy quickly got up and went to the kitchen. However, he found that there was no water
in the house. Without a second thought, he took a clay pot and walked a long distance to fetch fresh water
from a nearby spring.

The night was cold, and the path was dark, but Bayazid did not think about his own comfort. All he cared
about was his mother’s well-being. After a long and tiring journey, he finally returned home with the water.
But by then, his mother had fallen back asleep.

Instead of waking her up, Bayazid stood beside her, holding the glass of water in his hands. He waited
patiently for hours, ready to serve her the moment she woke up. When morning arrived, his mother opened
her eyes and saw her son standing there with the water. Tears filled her eyes as she realized how much love
and respect he had for her. She raised her hands in prayer and asked for blessings upon him.

Years later, Bayazid grew up to be a great scholar and a respected saint. His love and devotion to his mother
became an inspiration for many. This story teaches us that serving our parents with love and patience brings
great rewards. Parents are the greatest blessings in our lives, and we should always treat them with care and
respect.

A Tale of Two Friends

In a distant village, two best friends, Amin and Karim, were inseparable. They grew up together, sharing
their joys and sorrows. They trusted each other completely and often boasted that nothing could break their
friendship.

One day, they decided to travel through a dense forest to visit a nearby town. As they walked, they laughed
and talked, unaware of the dangers that lurked ahead. Suddenly, a ferocious bear appeared from behind the
trees. The huge beast roared loudly, making both friends freeze in fear.
5

Amin, thinking only about his own safety, quickly climbed a tall tree and hid among the branches. He did
not stop to think about Karim or try to help him. Karim, unable to climb, panicked. But then he remembered
hearing that bears do not attack dead bodies. Without any other option, he lay on the ground, held his breath,
and pretended to be dead.

The bear sniffed around Karim, but since he was motionless, it thought he was lifeless and left. After the
bear disappeared into the forest, Amin climbed down from the tree and laughed. “What did the bear whisper
in your ear?” he asked jokingly.

Karim looked at him with disappointment and replied, “It told me to be careful of friends who abandon me
in times of danger.”

Saddened by his friend’s betrayal, Karim walked away, realizing that true friendship is not about words but
about actions. Amin regretted his selfishness, but it was too late—he had lost a true friend.

This story teaches us that real friendship is tested in times of hardship. A true friend stands by you in
difficult moments, while a false friend only cares for himself.

A Greedy Farmer
Once in a quiet village, there lived a farmer named Harun. He owned a small piece of land where he grew
vegetables and sold them at the market. Although he earned enough to live comfortably, he was never
satisfied. He always dreamed of having more land, more crops, and more wealth.

One day, while working in his field, he came across a wealthy merchant who told him about a strange
opportunity. “In a faraway land, there is a king who will give you as much land as you can walk in one
day—but you must return to the starting point before sunset,” the merchant explained. Harun’s eyes sparkled
with greed. He imagined having endless fields and becoming the richest farmer in the country.

The next morning, Harun set off at sunrise. He walked quickly, marking the land as he went. Every time he
saw a fertile area, he thought, “Just a little more!” Hours passed, and he had already claimed more land than
he could ever use, but his greed pushed him further. He ignored hunger, thirst, and fatigue.

By afternoon, he realized the sun was starting to set. Panic filled his heart—he had walked too far! He
turned back and ran as fast as he could. His body was weak, his legs trembled, but he refused to stop. Just as
the last ray of sunlight disappeared, he reached the starting point. But before he could celebrate, he collapsed
from exhaustion.

The villagers gathered around, shocked. The king ordered a grave to be dug, and ironically, the only land
Harun truly needed was the six feet where he was buried. This story teaches us that greed leads to
destruction, and true happiness lies in contentment.

Even a Small Creature Can Help a Large One

Once in a dense forest, a mighty lion roamed fearlessly. He was the king of the jungle, and all animals
respected him. One day, after a heavy meal, the lion lay under a tree and fell asleep. A tiny mouse, searching
for food, accidentally ran over his paw. The lion woke up with a roar and caught the mouse with his sharp
claws.
6

“Please, mighty lion, spare my life! I am small and weak, but maybe one day I can help you,” the mouse
pleaded. The lion laughed. “You? Help me? That’s ridiculous! But since you amuse me, I will let you go.”
With that, he released the mouse, who quickly ran away.

Days passed, and one day, while hunting, the lion fell into a hunter’s trap. A strong net wrapped around him,
and no matter how much he struggled, he couldn’t break free. He roared for help, but the other animals were
too afraid to approach.Hearing the lion’s cries, the little mouse rushed to the scene. Without hesitation, he
started gnawing at the ropes. The tiny teeth of the mouse worked tirelessly, and soon, the net tore apart. The
lion was free!

Humbled, the lion looked at the tiny mouse and said, “I was wrong to underestimate you. Even the smallest
creature can help the mightiest of beings.”

From that day on, the lion and the mouse became friends. The story teaches us that strength is not always
about sizs. —kindness and intelligence matter too. Even those who seem weak have value, and we should never
underestimate others.
