Transformations 1 (Reflections)

The document provides a comprehensive guide on reflecting objects in a mirror line and on an X,Y grid. It includes definitions, examples, and exercises for reflecting various shapes like triangles, rectangles, and pentagons across different axes. The document emphasizes the concept of equidistance and perpendicularity in reflections and offers practical exercises for better understanding.

When an object is reflected in a mirror line, its image appears as though

it had been viewed through a mirror. All corresponding points on the object
and image are equidistant from and perpendicular to, the mirror line.

When an object is drawn on a grid you can reflect it in the mirror

line with the help of the squares. Here rectangle ABCD (object) is
reflected to A’B’C’D’ (image).
