No task was instructed but we prepared
for the symposium and observed
lectures. In our group meeting, we
discussed the presentation flow,
8:56 AM 5:00 PM 8 assigned content, and presenters. With
15 interns from the same university, the
process was smooth. The module is
WEDNESDAY easy to understand, and we trust each
other’s reliability, making collaboration
and feedback seamless. Additionally,
we attended a “Motivational Interview”
which enlightened us on how to
approach clinically. I deeply appreciated
that lesson and was amazed by the
lecturer's story.
5
Today, we focused on completing the
module content while some were
assigned to a client. We collaborated on
structuring the content and transferring
it into a presentation, making the task
manageable. When others got their
THURSDAY clients, I felt a bit overwhelmed at the
8:44 AM 5:00 PM 8
thought of having one myself. However,
I know I’m prepared—I have the
knowledge and empathy; I just need to
put them into action.
Today, we had one main task:
presenting our assigned module. After
thorough preparation and practice of the
assigned presenters, we delivered our
presentation successfully. The staff
provided constructive suggestions,
FRIDAY which we noted for future improvement.
9:07 AM 5:00 PM 8
The experience gave us valuable
insight into our strengths and areas for
growth, reinforcing the importance of
preparation and adaptability.

Today, we started by preparing for our
afternoon session on group dynamics
at Balay Silangan for our clients. We
then watched a lecture with them.
Later in the day, we facilitated a group
dynamics game titled “Pingpong Shots
& Gibberish Words: The Ultimate
Guess-off!” It was heartwarming to see
how enthusiastically the clients
8:55
5:00 PM 8 participated and collaborated with their
MONDAY AM
teams to win. This activity highlighted
the power of teamwork and enjoyment
in fostering connections among people.
Witnessing everyone having a great
time while improving their
communication skills was truly
rewarding. Such small yet impactful
moments can significantly contribute to
their overall journey.
We spent most of the day revising our
module for LIKE. Later, we had a
meeting with our HTE Supervisor,
where she discussed our future plans
for school-based activities. During the
meeting, we learned that we would be
paired into two-member teams to
8:46
5:00 PM 8 present on March 10, giving us a clear
TUESDAY AM
objective to work toward. We also
helped clean out our new headquarters
to create a more spacious
environment. Before the end of our
shift, we had a brief introduction with
our co-interns, which was a great
opportunity to build connections.
WEDNESDAY 8:51 5:00 PM 8 Our practicum coordinator conducted a
AM site visit today, during which she
provided us with valuable information
about our internship and gave us the
opportunity to share our thoughts.
Additionally, our co-interns held a dry
run for their future school-based
7
symposium presentation. We observed
and actively participated in the
icebreakers they had prepared. Later,
we had another discussion with Sir Jay
Donovan about motivational
interviewing, where we explored
various plans. I also had my first
meeting with my client, engaging in a
short interview to build rapport. This
marked an important first step in
establishing a strong foundation for our
work together.
Today, we were tasked with presenting
a dry run to the Balay Silangan staff for
the upcoming school-based
symposiums. My partner and I
delivered our topic smoothly, receiving
only a few questions and suggestions
8:43
5:00 PM 8 along the way. Since it was our first
THURSDAY AM
time addressing a topic about drugs,
we spent most of our time listening to
our co-interns' presentations. Notably,
although we were supposed to cover
six modules, we only managed to
complete the first three.
Today, we watched another set of case
conferences from our co-interns, where
they presented summaries of their
interview sessions with their clients. It
was a valuable learning experience, as
we gained useful insights and tips on
conducting our own interviews and key
points to keep in mind. Later, we had a
8:35 meeting with our onsite supervisor,
5:00 PM 8
FRIDAY AM during which we were paired into two-
member teams for the upcoming
school-based symposiums, with
shuffled pairings involving interns from
other universities. She also provided
us with a brief overview of what to
expect, helping us better prepare for
our roles and manage our
expectations.
Seven of us interns from DHVSU
volunteered to participate in an
awareness program focused on
Persons with Disabilities (PWD). The
event, themed "Therafree," aims to
provide free consultations and
assessments for PWDs, promoting
inclusivity and accessibility. In
preparation for the program, the staff
organized an online meeting, which
lasted for an hour, to help us practice
SATURDAY 3:00 4:00 PM 1 and refine our presentation for the
PM event. One of our fellow interns
delivered a presentation, after which
the staff provided comments and
recommendations for improvement.
This meeting served as a valuable
preparation for the program, which will
take place tomorrow at Angeles
University Foundation.
8
Today's task was to raise awareness
among families about Persons with
Disabilities (PWD). Initially, we were
unsure of the structure, but we later
adapted to presenting at designated
tables as families approached us. In
the morning, we engaged with families
after their assessments, but in the
7:00 5:00 AM 9 afternoon, they came to us first,
AM making the pace faster. Many families
SUNDAY showed great interest, sharing
personal experiences and challenges
as caregivers or PWDs themselves.
Their openness highlighted the
importance of continuous education
and support. This experience
reinforced the value of advocacy and
our role in spreading awareness,
making it a meaningful and impactful
day.

THINGS I’VE ● During our group dynamics session at Balay Silangan, we
LEARNED facilitated "Pingpong Shots & Gibberish Words: The Ultimate
DURING THE Guess-off!" and saw how teamwork and communication
REPORT helped clients engage and enjoy the activity. While some were
PERIOD initially hesitant, they gradually became more involved, making
(3-5 bullets) the experience both fun and meaningful. This highlighted the
importance of creating an inclusive environment where
everyone feels encouraged to participate. Moving forward, I
plan to use more engaging strategies and refine my facilitation
techniques to ensure all participants feel comfortable and
involved in future sessions.
● During our PWD awareness session, we initially faced
uncertainty in the structure but adapted as the event
progressed. In the morning, we engaged with families after
their assessments, while in the afternoon, they met with us
first, making the pace faster. Many families showed great
interest, openly sharing their experiences and challenges. This
experience emphasized the importance of adaptability,
education, and support for the PWD community. Moving
forward, I will focus on improving flexibility in similar events,
enhancing engagement strategies, and ensuring inclusivity to
create a more impactful learning experience.
● During our dry run for the school-based symposiums at Balay
Silangan, my partner and I presented our topic smoothly,
receiving minimal questions and suggestions. Since it was our
first time discussing drug-related topics, we focused on
observing our co-interns' presentations. Although we aimed to
cover six modules, we completed only three. This experience
highlighted the need for better time management and deeper
familiarity with the topic. Moving forward, I plan to enhance my
preparation by studying the remaining modules thoroughly and
improving presentation pacing to ensure all content is covered
effectively.
