SINGULAR AND PLURAL
SINGULAR NOUN: A singular noun refers to only one
person, place or thing.
Eg: Rabbit, box, lady
PLURAL NOUN: A plural noun refers to more than one
person, place or thing.
Eg: Buses, chairs, pencils

We can form the plurals of naming words.

1. By adding –s to them

2. By adding –es

Demonstrative Adjectives

Demonstrative adjectives - Demonstrative adjectives describes


noun or pronoun and indicates its relative position.

Adverbs
Adverbs – We use adverbs to tell us more about the verbs.
Adverbs tell us how actions are done.

Prepositions
Prepositions – We use Prepositions to tell us place where a
person, place or thing is and tell us the time When something
happens.
EX:
1) The plate is on the table.
2) The tiffin box is in the basket.
3) The cat is under the table.
4) I was born in 2017.
5) The alarm rings at 6 o’clock.

Verb Tenses
The tense of a verb that shows time of an action or event.
Simple present tense: It talks about an action happening now
Ex: Play/plays
Eat/eats
Go/goes
Write/writes
Simple past tense: It tells us about an action that has already
happened.
Ex: played
Ate
Went
Wrote.

Verbs
Verbs tell us what people, animals or things do.
Ex: run, think, eat, drink, cry

Conjunctions (joining Words)


A word which is used to join two words or sentences is called
conjunctions.
Ex: and, so, but, or, because.
1) ‘And’ connects two sentences with similar ideas
2) ‘but’ connects two sentences with opposite ideas
3) ‘or’ is used for giving options.
4) ‘so’ is used to show the result
5) ‘because’ is used to show the reason.

Reading Comprehension (Sample1)

Deepti always loves to play in the sand on the seashore, but


was scared of the waves.
One day, Aunt Sona come to stay with them. She held Deepti’s
little hand and took her for a walk on the seashore to collect
shells. Deepti was so excited. She found green, purple, yellow,
and brown shells. She was enjoining so much that she never
noticed the frosty waves curl around her tiny feet. Her aunt told
her to look at the beautiful waves around her. That is when she
realized she was not afraid of the waves anymore.
