I. OBJECTIVES:

A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of:
South and West Asian literature as an
expression of philosophical and religious
beliefs; information flow in various text types;
reality fantasy, and opinion in listening and
viewing materials; words decoding strategies ;
and use of information sources, active/passive
construction, direct /reported speech, perfect
tenses, and logical connectors in journalistic
writing.

B. Performance Standard
The learner transfers learning by composing
a variety of journalistic text, the contents of
which may be used in composing and delivering
a memorized oral speech featuring use of
properly acknowledge information sources,
grammatical signals for opinion making,
persuasion, and emphasis, and appropriate
prosodic features, stance, and behavior.

C. Learning Competencies/Objectives:

At the end of the 45-minute lesson, the
students are be able to:

Identify the principles of speech delivery,
common speech delivery mistakes, types of
speech, qualities of a good speaker, and
common fears in public speaking during the
Family Feud activity.

 Preliminaries

Opening prayer

“Please all rise for our class prayer” Everyone stands for the class prayer. The student
(call a student to lead the prayer) who is called to lead the prayer will do so.

"Good day, everyone! Today, we’re going to
play an exciting game of Family Feud! This
game will test your knowledge about speeches
and how they are delivered. The goal is simple
—think like a team, guess the top answers, and
score points! Are you ready to have fun while
learning? Let’s begin!

MECHANICS:
1. Form Two Teams – The class will be divided
into two competing teams.
2. Taking Turns – A player from each team will
face off in a Face-Off Round. The one who gives
the higher-ranked answer gets control of the
round.
3. Guess the Answers – The team in control will
try to guess all the top answers.
4. Strikes Rule – Each wrong answer earns a ❌
(strike). Three strikes mean the other team gets a
chance to steal!
5. Steal the Round – If the controlling team gets
three strikes, the opposing team can steal by
giving one correct answer from the list.
