ABSTRACT

This study focuses on the enchantment of student learning and engagement with the

involvement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the Grade 10 students of Far Eastern Private

School, Al Shabha Campus, Sharjah, UAE. This study digs further into the use sage of AI in

the classroom and how it can benefit students of the grade 10 and their learnings and boost

engagement.

Furthermore, this research paper is focused on the academic year of 2024-2025. Our research

paper uses quantitative results, as its much more efficient and easier to obtain and analysing

the data we receive from our grade 10 students. The total number of respondents were (yet to

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic concept; it is an active and transformative

force in various sectors, including education. Recent studies have shown that AI-powered

tools in classrooms have the potential to improve student engagement by personalizing

learning, providing immediate feedback, and offering interactive experiences. In fact,

research indicates that 90% of students who interact with AI-based educational tools report

increased motivation and engagement. This shift in educational practices is not just a trend; it

is a powerful tool that can redefine the learning experience, especially for digital-native

students.

Student engagement has always been a key determinant of academic success. However, in an

era where students are constantly surrounded by technology, traditional teaching methods

often fail to maintain their attention and interest. AI-powered educational tools provide a

solution to this challenge by offering tailored learning experiences that cater to each student’s

individual needs. By adapting content based on a student’s progress and challenges, AI not

only enhances learning outcomes but also keeps students motivated and involved.

Furthermore, AI tools can offer real-time assessments and feedback, enabling students to

track their progress and stay engaged in the learning process.

The importance of this study lies in understanding the ways in which AI can be utilized to

enhance student engagement, particularly among Grade 10 students, who are at a pivotal
point in their educational journey. This age group is transitioning from foundational learning

to more complex subjects, making it essential to maintain their interest and encourage active

participation. With the growing integration of AI in classrooms, it is critical to examine its

impact on students' academic experiences, especially in terms of engagement.

This research aims to explore how AI can play a role in improving student engagement

among Grade 10 students. Specifically, it will investigate how AI-based educational tools

influence students' motivation, involvement in class activities, and overall learning outcomes.

By analysing these effects, the study aims to provide valuable insights that can guide

educators, school administrators, and policymakers in integrating AI into teaching strategies

Background of the study
In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed education by offering

personalized learning experiences, adaptive systems, and real-time feedback, making it a

valuable tool in enhancing student engagement. Engagement is a crucial factor for academic

success, especially for Grade 10 students who are transitioning to more complex learning.

Traditional teaching methods often struggle to maintain students' interest, but AI-based tools

can help bridge this gap by tailoring content to individual needs, increasing motivation, and

fostering active participation.

This research is important as it explores the role of AI in boosting engagement among Grade

10 students, providing insights that could guide educators in effectively incorporating AI to

improve student outcomes. As AI becomes more integrated into classrooms, understanding

This study aims to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing student

engagement among Grade 10 students. The research will investigate how AI-powered

gender, academic performance, and frequency of using AI-powered learning tools?

2. How often do Grade 10 students use AI-based tools for their studies, and how does

this frequency relate to their engagement levels?

3. How do AI-powered educational tools impact the motivation of Grade 10 students in

their studies?

4. How do Grade 10 students perceive the effectiveness of AI tools in helping them

understand complex academic topics?

5. Do Grade 10 students prefer AI-assisted learning methods over traditional teaching

methods?

6. What is the effect of AI-powered tools on the participation of Grade 10 students in

class activities and discussions?

Hypothesis

HO1 The use of AI-powered educational tools does not significantly affect the motivation of

Grade 10 students.

HA1 The use of AI-powered educational tools significantly increases the motivation of Grade

10 students.

HO2 There is no significant relationship between the frequency of using AI-powered

educational tools and student engagement in Grade 10 students.

HA2 There is a significant positive relationship between the frequency of using AI-powered

educational tools and student engagement among Grade 10 students.

HO3 AI-powered educational tools have no significant effect on the participation of Grade

10 students in class activities and discussions.

HA3 AI-powered educational tools significantly increase the participation of Grade 10

students in class activities and discussions.

Scope and Delimitations

This study focuses on examining the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing student

engagement among Grade 10 students at Far Eastern Private School Al Shabha (FEPS). The

research specifically investigates how AI-powered educational tools affect student

motivation, participation, and overall engagement in the learning process. The study will

gather data from Grade 10 students, with a primary focus on their experiences and

perceptions of AI-based learning methods.

The study will be conducted during the 2024-2025 academic year, and it will involve only

those Grade 10 students who are actively using AI-based learning tools for activities at FEPS.

The research will utilize surveys and questionnaires to gather information regarding student

engagement, including frequency of AI tool usage, perceived effectiveness, and changes in

academic participation.

Significance of the Study

This study is significant as it explores the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on student

engagement, a crucial factor for academic success, among Grade 10 students at Far Eastern

Private School Al Shabha (FEPS). By investigating how AI-powered educational tools

1.FOR THE STUDENTS. This study will help Grade 10 students by identifying how AI

tools can improve their engagement and motivation in learning. AI-powered platforms can

offer personalized and interactive experiences, making lessons more enjoyable and effective.

2.FOR THE TEACHERS. The findings of this research will assist teachers in understanding

the effectiveness of AI in enhancing student engagement. It can help them integrate AI tools

into their teaching strategies to create a more interactive and engaging learning environment.

3.FOR THE PARENTS. The research will provide parents with a better understanding of

how AI can enhance their children’s learning experiences. By identifying AI’s role in

improving student engagement, parents can support their children's academic development

and encourage the use of effective learning tools.

4. FOR THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS. This study will provide valuable insights

into how AI can be effectively implemented in the educational system. It can help school

administrators and policymakers make informed decisions regarding the integration of AI

technology to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
