M4A3(76) Sherman – Clervaux (Luxemburg)


Serial Number 43911, built byChrysler in May, 1944. Combat vet. of the 2nd Tank Bat., 9th Armored Division. During the battle for
Clervaux, tanks of the 707th Tank Battalion suffered heavy losses. They were reinforced by 17 Shermans from Combat Command R,
9th Armored Division. This tank belonged to the 3rd Platoon, 2nd Tank Battalion, that defended the city of Clervaux. It was hit by a
shell on the turret top without damage on 17 December, and its crew bailed out and abandoned it. During the night, the unit
commander ordered the tank to be brought back, but it was put out of action on the early morning of 18 December. A shell hit the turret
side and tear the main gun and shield off the turret (book "Les témoins d’acier” by Hughes Wenkin and Christian Dujardin)

M4A3(76) Sherman – Ville-sur-Illon (France)


Serial Number 43594, built in April, 1944. Original tank from the 12th RCA, 2nd French Armored Division, knocked out during the
Battle of Dompaire in September, 1944. Despite the damages, the crew escaped without injuries
