 Objectives
         § Networks of local government officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders (to
           share best practices and coordinate efforts to address common challenges)
         § Concept note on addressing climate change in the cities of IMT-GT through low-carbon and
           resilient urban development to:
                     1) Identify potential areas and opportunities (for transboundary piloting UA
                        initiative)
                     2) develop a set of criteria for the selection of pilot cities
                     3) identify sectors for cities based on the IMT-GT subregion’s development and UA
                        objectives

Planned Activities
         §   Preparation of application documents to access funding for early project preparation
             support
         §   Consultation workshops to select sectoral priority.
         §   Organize a participatory project design workshop with key stakeholders (and domestic
             and/or international financing institutions).
         §   Conduct preliminary technical background analysis on project scope and outline
             preliminary project design and climate rationale.
         §   Conduct matchmaking to secure financing for project capital investment costs

Project Preparation Funding
       The Cities Climate Finance GAP –fund financing will be used to support early stage project preparation
       “pre-feasibility study”. Completion of the pre-feasibility study is of highest importance for the successful
       structuring, launching, financing and implementation of the priority transboundary project.
       The Gap Fund application will be submitted by end of October and is anticipated to be awarded during 1st
       quarter of 2024.
       The application will be submitted by CIMT on behalf of selected cities.
       In the future, depending on demand, other identified priorities and opportunities, assistance may be
       arranged to support additional projects’ development and submission of financing applications
