INTRODUCTION
I’ve selected a small business since it gives a lot to learn from which is beneficial for the
students to help with new strategies, business approaches, entrepreneurship skills, to build
a strong and loyal client relationship, start up risks and much more which builds a person
and helps him/her take the right decisions at crucial times.
The internship is a crucial aspect of academic curriculum, designed to bridge the gap
between theoretical learning and real-world experience. For many students, it represents
the first meaningful engagement with the professional world, offering a unique
opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during years of academic study to
practical situations. This report presents a detailed account of my internship experience at
Elevate Global Academy where I served in the Marketing and Finance department from 5 th
July to 22nd august. Over the course of this period, I was able to immerse myself in the
company's operations, gaining hands-on experience and deep insights into the teaching
industry that I intend to build a career in.
Before delving into the specifics of my internship, it is important to provide some context
about elevate academy and the environment in which I worked. Elevate is a leading player
in foreign language training and also known for helping students to study abroad from
admission to all the competitive exams. The company’s mission is to be a leader in foreign
language training at the national level and to be in the forefront of assisting our students to
come out with flying colors, and its operations span across all of bengaluru. The
department in which I was placed, marketing, is responsible for attracting more and more
customers to our courses. This department plays a crucial role in increasing the company
revenue.
1
The objectives of my internship were twofold: to gain practical experience in
communication and to contribute meaningfully to the projects and initiatives of the
marketing. To achieve these objectives, I was involved in a variety of projects, each
designed to challenge my abilities and push me beyond the confines of classroom learning.
For instance, I was responsible for the social management of the company and I was asked
to create posts and templates to attract customers through social media and I was very
consistent. This project not only allowed me to develop technical skills, such as
excel, sales, talking on the phone to the client but also honed my soft skills, particularly in
areas such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
One of the key aspects of this internship was the opportunity to work closely with
professionals who are experts in their fields. The mentorship and guidance I received from
my supervisors and colleagues were invaluable in helping me navigate the complexities of
the projects I was assigned. Through regular meetings, feedback sessions, and
collaborative work, I was able to learn about how these teaching institute manage and
teach students the competitive exams like IELTS,PTE,OET and TOEIC both offline and
online. These interactions also provided me with a clearer understanding of the
professional expectations in the industry, helping me to better align my academic pursuits
with the demands of the workplace.
During the internship, I faced several challenges, each of which was a learning
opportunity. One of the most significant challenges was that I was unable to use the
software excel initially and I did not really understand the working the company which
took me a while but my colleagues were very cordial and I learnt everything very quickly.
Initially, this seemed daunting, but through perseverance, research, and the support of my
team, I was able to overcome it by practicing it every day. This experience taught me the
importance of the value of adaptability, the importance of communication, or the need for
continuous learning.
In addition to the technical and professional skills I developed, the internship also had a
profound impact on my personal growth. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced
environment like elevate academy required me to step out of my comfort zone and take on
new responsibilities. This experience boosted my confidence and allowed me to develop a
stronger sense of independence and initiative. I also gained a deeper appreciation for the
2
importance of time management, ethical considerations, and a commitment to continuous
improvement.

FINDINGS:
In my journey of this internship I found out how a small business of language teaching
works, the challenges they face are many like there is less labor, less profit margin, less
admissions. There are chances of the business collapsing soon since teaching trends are
never intact and customer expect more creativity.
1. Capital
If you do not already have the funds required to start your teaching institute (which is
pretty difficult, considering it is such a capital intensive investment), you might have a
hard time convincing financial institutions to lend you money to start your company.
Why?
2. Demand Forecasting
This is another challenge you would also face. Since you are just beginning, you might
not have existing records of demands therefore, knowing what quantity to produce,
which methods to use and might be a problem. To handle this, you must think about
using crowd sourcing; such that your customers would be able to decide on what to
produce based on customer’s choices and opinions.
Costs of production in the teaching industry increases every day. Don’t be surprised if the
costs you have in your business plan is different from what obtains in the market even
though you wrote your business plan just two months ago. As more people get into the
business, the prices of materials needed for production continues to increase.
23
Inflation isn’t helping things at all and since there are tons of brands in the market, the
customers move on to the cheaper brands when your stuffs get too expensive. The best
way to curb this problem is to use outsourcing as a way of cutting production costs so
that you can avoid some overhead expenses.
5. Distribution Challenges
Designing and producing your courses is totally up to you but you cannot fully control
the distribution of your courses. Distribution is usually a challenge for teaching brands.
You have to work hard to get your brands into teaching stores and that might cost you
more than a little effort and time.
7. Courses
To keep your teaching company running, you have to keep on turning out new courses all
the time and sometimes, you might run into some kind of ‘designer’s block’ where you
would find it difficult to come up with unique new courses of your own.
24
However, you won’t have too much trouble with this when you hire a team of designers
to handle the designing aspect of your business. They would be able to create new
designs for you. You can also consider buying designs from independent designers.
8. Promotion
This is where a marketing plan comes into play? Here is a sample teaching line
marketing plan template you can use. You would also have to spend a lot of money on
publicity and Promotion especially as a new comer in the business. You would have to
host launching parties, give out free samples, and pay for advertisements and a whole lot
of other expenses related to promotion and advertisements.
9. Competition
The truth is that there are several people in the business. Think of the several brands you
see when you walk into a teaching store; thousands of people own teaching lines in
different countries and as a new entrant into the business, you might have a hard time
breaking through and positioning your business at the forefront. Nonetheless, there is still
hope if you are smart enough to study your competitors closely and strategize how to
break into the market. You could use pricing strategies, promotional strategies or social
networking tools to reach out to your customers and offer them what your competitors are
not offering them.
This is another problem you might face because after spending a lot of money paying
teachers to ensure that you give your customers the best, it would really hurt to see
another person steal your designs and present it to their customers at very cheap rates
because they didn’t spend too much money on designing. Trademarking your designs
would really work to solve this particular challenge.
25
6. SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
2. Set Goals
Similar to keeping score, setting goals and objectives is an essential part of your business
success. Use the goals you set as an ongoing planning tool to ensure that you continue to
move forward with your small business. For instance, try to increase traffic by a certain
amount on your business website or blog. More web traffic can translate into added sales
or customer loyalty.
Marketing strategies to improve your small business. Test one or two new tactics and see
which perform best before adding them to your marketing mix. Social media is an
excellent low-cost and low-risk way to promote your business. LinkedIn, Facebook,
Twitter, and Instagram are a few good tools to build a social presence and attract attention
to your business.
5. Monitor Trends
No business operates in a vacuum. Events and changes in the global landscape have an
effect on your business. Stay current on trends and issues happening in your industry and
26
local community. Even things that don't seem relevant on the surface might have an
impact on what you do, so consider all possibilities.
8. Motivate Staff
Talented and motivated staff members can bring on big improvements in business. Learn
What motivates your employees to higher levels of performance? Part of this is being
willing to listen to input and insight from everyone on staff, regardless of position or
seniority. Some of the best ideas come from those closest to certain problems.
27
CONCLUSION:
In conclusion, this internship has been a very useful experience. I can safely say that my
understanding of this job environment has increased greatly. However, I do think that
there are some aspects of the job that I could have done better and that I need to work
on. I realized that I could have done completed the work earlier than I did. Also, the
technical parts of the job were a bit flawed and I was asked multiple times to correct it.
