E. Discussing New Concepts and The teacher will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the
Practicing New Skills #2 methods of gathering data.
Advantages and Disadvantages of the Methods of Gathering
Data
Interview:
Advantage: Can get more accurate answers since clarifications
can be made if respondents do not understand the question.
Disadvantage: Costly and time-consuming. Only applicable to
small population.
Questionnaire:
Advantages: Can save on time in gathering the information
needed because questionnaires can be given to a large number of
people at the same time.
Disadvantages: Cannot expect that all distributed questionnaire
will be retrieved because some respondents simply ignore the
questionnaires.
Registration:
Advantage: The most reliable since it is enforced by laws.
Disadvantage: Data are limited to what are listed in the document.
Experiment:
Advantage: Can gain a firsthand result.
Disadvantage: The whole process must be repeated if the desired
outcome is not reached.
