4. Control Settings
4.1 Active Power Control
SUN2000-330KTL-H1 is able to control the active power injected into the grid. The
maximum output power of the inverter can be set by the HMI (APP or monitoring
system) through the following two methods.
a) Fixed Active Power Value Pref Control
Pref range: 0 ~ Pmax
b) Active power setting percentage
Range: (0%~100%)*Pmax
Another purpose of output power control is to control the frequency of the grid. If there
is an increase of the grid frequency (more generation than consumption), the inverter
will reduce the power contribution to the grid, as illustrated in Figure 4.

4.2 Reactive Power Control
The inverter output reactive power can also be set through HMI (APP or monitoring
system). The inverter will keep the power factor equal to 1 by default. There are four
ways to set the inverter reactive power:
a) Mode 1: Constant Reactive Power
The reactive set point is obtained from the fixed reference value (Qref).
Qref range: -0.6*Smax ~ 0.6*Smax
b) Mode 2: Constant Power Factor
The reactive set point is obtained from the reference value of the fixed power
factor (cosφref).
Adjustable Power factor range: ±1
c) Mode 3: Q-U Curve Control
Q range: -0.6*Smax ~ 0.6*Smax
U range: 0.8*Un ~ 1.15*Un
Description: The inverter can respond according to a pre-defined Q-U curve.
The customer is allowed to customize a Q-U curve with 2 ~ 10 points, and the
inverter can respond accordingly. The following figure presents one example.

d) Mode 4: PF-P Curve Control
Power factor range: ±1
Active power range: (0%~100%)*Pmax
Description: The inverter can also be controlled through a pre-defined PF-P
Curve (2 ~ 10 points). The inverter can respond according to the set point, as
shown in Figure 6.

4.3 Fault Ride Through (FRT) Capability
SUN2000-330KTL-H1 inverter monitors the frequency and voltage values of the
interconnection point (POI) of the PV power station. These values are processed to
determine the grid-connected state (frequency crossing or voltage crossing mode).
Once the voltage and frequency is deviated from the normal range, the protection relay
will operate to disconnect the inverter from the grid.
The frequency protection function has two limits for the maximum frequency and three
for the minimum frequency. These points define a ‘No-trip’ Zone for the inverter, as
shown in Figure 7. In this ‘No-trip’ Zone (Zone A), SUN2000-330KTL-H1 inverter is
able to continuously operate without disconnection.

In case of a voltage drop, the inverter injects the reactive current into the grid for voltage
compensation. Under this condition, the inverter reactive current injection follows a
drop characteristic (Figure 9) and has a higher priority than the active current. It is
necessary to limit the total output current not exceeding the maximum current.
Therefore, the inverter active current may be limited if necessary.
