ERASMUS+ International Credit Mobility – KEY ACTION 1 (KA171)
1. Object: What is the KA171 Action.
The call for applicants aims at selecting participants (students and staff members) of the partner
universities who meet the requirements and wish to participate in the Erasmus+ mobility
program KA171 International Credit Mobility at the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
Erasmus+ offers opportunities for students to study and staff to teach and/or train in higher
education institutions (HEI) beyond Europe. It also makes available the same opportunities for
staff and students form countries beyond Europe to come to participating HEIs in Europe. This
is well-known as International Credit Mobility (hereinafter cited as ICM) and this is an activity
under Key Action 1 (KA171).
Under this mobility, students at any level can study abroad for a limited period of 3 to 5 months
for which credits are obtained. After the mobility phase, the students return to their sending
institution to complete their studies and get recognition for the obtained credits. Similarly, staff
can spend a teaching and/or training period abroad for up to 2 months.
2. Financing of the program.
The funding for mobility grants within the framework of ICM comes from funds of the European
Commission, which are managed by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education
(SEPIE) the Spanish Erasmus National Agency.
Travel Costs contribution: the project will cover a return ticket from home to the host university
for all grantees with a fixed amount depending on the travel distance:

Participants are responsible for contracting their travel arrangements, insurance cover and visa
expenses.

In case of a “blended mobility” the participant will receive the individual support of the time
spent abroad and the travel costs. In the case of a 100% virtual mobility, no financial support
will be paid as there is no physical mobility.
3. Duration of the mobility.
Staff: 5 days and 2 days for travel. A minimum of 8 teaching hours per week in case of mobility
for teaching.
Student: from 3 to 5 months
All mobilities must be finished before the end of the project duration. Contact with the
international office of UCLM for more information.
4. Eligibility.
- To have the nationality of one of the countries participating in the Erasmus+ program or
be recognised by the country in which you reside as a permanent resident, refugee or
stateless person.
- Staff: To have a work contract in one of the partner institutions during the period of
application and during the mobility abroad. Before the mobility participants will be
signing a teaching/training mobility agreement.
- Students: to be officially enrolled at the partner institution during the period of
application and during the mobility abroad. Before the mobility participants will be
signing a learning mobility agreement.
5. Application.
Candidates will apply at their home institutions; they will be pre-selected, and the host
institution will determine the final candidates according to the following requirements:
For the application phase:

- Planned study or learning mobility agreement.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Academic record
- Motivation letter
- Language Certificate (B1 Spanish and or English).
Staff
- Work program or teaching/training mobility agreement.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Proof of staff member at sending university
- Invitation letter: it must be issued from a staff member from UCLM.
- Language Certificate B2 Spanish and/ or English (optional).

6. Selection criteria.
Applicants must fulfil the following criteria:
- To register the application at his/her home institution before the deadline.
- Academic requirements: To be accepted and assessed positively (≥50%) by the home
institution according to the following criteria:

- Language requirements: UCLM will not request documents providing the level of
language to the applicants, however home institutions will ensure that candidates meet
the language requirements to be able to take advantage of the mobility period.
Language certificate will be considered in the assessment, however, is not compulsory
for staff. Spanish native speakers who are interested on mobilities to Spain do not need
to provide language certificates.
7. Experts commission.
All applications will be assessed by an expert commission from each thematic field at home
and host universities with 50% of the final mark respectively and the lists of the provisional
and definite results will be published at both institutions websites.
All selected candidates must comply with the requirements of both home and host
universities regarding all the requested documents and proofs of the stay.
8. Conflict.
Selected candidates will not be able to participate in any other program developed in the
same period.
Grants in this call will be compatible with previous Erasmus+ stays, or Erasmus-Mundus. The
same student may participate in mobility periods totalling up to 12 months maximum per
each cycle of study independently of the number and type of mobility activities, except for
Medicine, Pharmacy and Architecture with 24 months of stay maximum.
9. Revocation and an award.
University may revoke an award or a place granted with a full or partial refund of the grant
when the conditions prescribed for admission to the award have not been fulfilled or there
have been irregularities or fraud in the award procedure.
