Section B: Oral Narratives (20 marks)
"The Lion and the Hare"
Once upon a time, in a vast savannah, a mighty lion ruled over all the animals. He
was known for his strength and ferocity. One day, he was feeling very hungry and
decided to hunt. He searched high and low but couldn't find anything. Then, he saw
a small hare nibbling on some grass. The lion, thinking he would make an easy meal,
pounced on the hare.
The hare, however, was quick-thinking and said, "Oh mighty lion, you are so strong
and powerful! But I am so small and weak. Why don’t you spare me and let me go? I
promise I will bring you a bigger meal!"
The lion, curious about the hare's offer, allowed him to go. The hare ran into the
bushes, and the lion waited eagerly.
The hare then went to the other animals in the forest and gathered a group of them.
Together, they made a plan to trick the lion. They led the lion to a pit and told him
that they had found a big feast for him. The lion, not suspecting anything, followed
them into the pit, only to fall in.
The animals laughed, and the hare said, "Sometimes, it’s not strength, but wisdom
that wins the day."

Poem: The Power of a Dream
When laughter fades and hope seems lost,
Hold on tight, no matter the cost.
For dreams are flames that burn so bright,
Guiding us through the darkest night.
They may mock, they may despise,
But stand your ground and rise, rise, rise.
For in your heart, the strength is deep,
A promise to yourself to keep.
