Agency Worker Update 050721 - Update

The Royal Mail has communicated updates regarding COVID-19 restrictions, indicating that the Prime Minister will announce plans for easing measures on July 19, contingent on meeting specific government tests. While cases may rise, the vaccination program has weakened the link to hospitalizations and deaths. Workers are reminded to continue following existing COVID-secure arrangements until new guidance is issued.

Royal Mail Agency Worker COVID-19 Communication

ALL WORKERS

The Prime Minister will host a press conference this afternoon (Monday 5 July) to set out plans
for the final step of the Roadmap in England, which is expected to begin on Monday 19 July if the
Government’s “four tests” for easing COVID restrictions have been met. This is expected to be
confirmed on Monday 12 July following a review of the latest data. Devolved guidance for
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland is expected to be announced and issued after England’s
announcement.

The latest data and scientific modelling suggest that cases will continue to rise as restrictions are
eased, but the link to hospitalisations and deaths has been weakened due to the vaccination
programme.

We understand the easing of restrictions generates questions. Be reassured that we continue to

monitor the UK Government and devolved administrations' advice and will issue communications
and guidance as quickly as possible. We are also considering a UK wide approach from 19
July in relation to guidance on sharing vehicles.

In the meantime, as we await updated guidance, there is no change to our Covid-secure work
arrangements and we must all continue to:

• Self-isolate if you have coronavirus symptoms

• Adhere to hand hygiene, mandatory face coverings in indoor settings and social distancing
measures
• Ventilate indoor spaces
• Access a test when needed
• Support the vaccination programme by having your vaccinations where possible
• Continue to work from home where you can

It is very important we all continue to take a personal responsibility to make choices that minimise
the risk of infection at work and home. Remember hands, face, space, ventilation and regular
testing - let’s all think, take care and protect ourselves and others.

Best wishes
