This study delves deep into the perceptions held by HR experts regarding recruitment practices
within Decathlon Sports India, a prominent sports retail organization renowned for its
innovative talent management approach. The primary objective of this research is to shine a
light on the challenges faced, areas for enhancement within the organization, and the
effectiveness of the current recruitment strategies being employed.
By utilizing a rich mix of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, which include conducting
interviews, surveys, focus groups, and analyzing reports, comprehensive data is gathered
directly from HR professionals who are closely involved in the recruitment processes at
Decathlon Sports India. The analysis brings to light that while the company's Recruitment and
Development (DRD) process is highly esteemed for its emphasis on identifying and nurturing
high-potential individuals, there are specific areas where recruitment practices could benefit
from enhancements.
Significant findings indicate that transparency, fairness, and alignment with organizational
objectives are valued by HR experts in recruitment processes. However, various challenges
such as acquiring qualified candidates, managing high volumes of applications, and ensuring
cultural fit persist. Recommendations for improvement include refining candidate sourcing
strategies, incorporating technology-driven recruitment tools, and providing continuous
training to HR professionals.
Overall, the insights provided by this study offer valuable guidance to Decathlon Sports India
for refining its recruitment practices, boosting employee engagement, and sustaining its
competitive edge in the sports retail sector. Furthermore, the findings contribute to the broader
discourse on HR perspectives regarding recruitment practices, offering actionable insights for
organizations seeking to enhance their recruitment strategies and practices in a meaningful
manner.
