takes 3000 VA at a leading power factor of 0.707. Find the value of impedance Z. (7)

6. (i) A transformer has 600 turns of the primary winding and 20 turns of the secondary winding.
Determine (1) the secondary voltage if the primary voltage is 140 V with the secondary open.
(2) the primary current if the secondary current is 90A. (7)
(ii) Compare squirrel cage and slip ring induction motors in detail. (6)
7. Determine the current in the 4Ω branch in the circuit shown in Fig. 1. Use mesh analysis method.

9. (i) A 4 pole, 1500 rpm DC generator has a lap wound armature having 24 slots with 10 conductors per
slot. If the flux per pole is 0.04 Wb, calculate the emf generated in the armature. What would be the
generated emf if the winding is wave connected? (7)

(i) Derive the EMF equation of DC Generator, considering the wave and lap winding.
