CBD
What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of many chemical compounds found in the cannabis sativa plant. When applied topically (as a cream
or oil) or consumed (as oil, edibles or smoked), CBD interacts with neuroreceptors in your endocannabinoid system, which is a
network in the body that helps regulate many functions, including digestion, metabolism, mood, memory, sleep, motor control,
pain perception, immune function, fertility, and pregnancy. Cannabinoids are so essential to good health that your brain actually
produces its own cannabinoids.
Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive and non-intoxicating, making it safe and effective for everyone, including children and the
elderly.

Ways of Taking CBD:
☺ Ingested CBD Swallowing CBD allows it to pass through the digestive system and be metabolized by the liver, sending its
active compounds throughout the body over several hours. CBD oil is usually ingested in drops, capsules, or added to foods
and drinks, such as gummies, candies, baked goods, juices, and tea or coffee.
☺ Sublingual CBD Another popular way to take CBD is to place a few drops of the oil under the tongue and hold it there for
several seconds. This allows the active ingredients to be rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream through mucus membranes
in the mouth.
☺ Topical CBD CBD-infused products are applied to the skin to relieve pain and reduce inflammation directly where needed
or used for various skin conditions. Topical products include creams, salves, soaps, suppositories, lip balms, bath salts, and
massage oils.
☺ Inhaled CBD CBD can be inhaled by vaporizing the oil or by smoking bud that is high in CBD. Inhaled CBD enters the
bloodstream rapidly through the lungs, avoiding the digestive system.
What are Terpenes?
Terpenes are organic compounds naturally produced by many plants, including Cannabis. Each terpene has its own specific aroma
in addition to offering distinct healing effects and health benefits. Cannabinoids (such as CBD) and terpenes work together
synergistically to create the entourage effect.
