What is Scrap Metal Recycling?

Scrap metal recycling is the process of removing recyclable metal components from
structures and end-of-life products so they can be processed and reintroduced as raw
materials for the creation of new products.

Metals may be recycled multiple times without losing any of their original properties.
Construction waste and automobile parts are two examples of scrap metal that can be
recycled into new products.

What are the Benefits of Scrap Metal Recycling?

1. Protect the environment, conserve resources, and promote sustainable


development.
2. Recycling reduces the demand for mining and producing raw materials
3. Protecting water supplies, minerals, and other natural resources.

By doing this, the capacity of landfills is less stressed, and potentially harmful
compounds found in these products are kept from damaging the environment.

The energy and resources needed to create different metals vary, but, compared to
obtaining steel from raw materials, recycling steel requires 60% less energy. Save
95% by recycling aluminum. That means by recycling your Coke can, you can
contribute to energy conservation in the amount needed to run a 60-watt light bulb
for more than four hours.

How to Dispose Metal Scrap properly?

1. Separate Metal scrap from woods and other materials.


2. Separate Ferrous Metals from non Ferrous. Ferrous metals are metals that contain
iron, and non-ferrous metals do not contain iron.
3. Do not just throw Metals everywhere.
4. Do good housekeeping in your work station by segregating disposable and
Recyclable materials. It does not only promote Safety but You save the
Environment as well.
