The Ant and the Dove
One hot day, an ant was searching for some water. After walking around for some time, she came (sampai) to a
spring. (mata air)

climbed up there. Soon, it carried (berpindah tempat) her safely (selamat) to dry (kering) ground (tanah).
Just as that time, a hunter nearby was throwing out his net towards the dove, hoping (berharap) to trap
(menjebak) it. Guessing (menebak) what he was about to do, the ant quickly bit(menggigit) him on the heel(tumit).
Feeling (merasa) the pain(sakit), the hunter dropped (menjatuhkan) his net (jaringnya). Quickly, the dove flied
(terbang) away to safety.

On a summer day, the weather was very hot and everybody (semua orang) was thirsty (haus). A lion and a pig

them should drink first(pertama), and were soon (tak lama kemudian) fighting (berkelahi) furiously (hebat).

nasar) in the distance (kejauhan). The birds were waiting(menunggu) for one of them to die so they could eat. The
vultures were looking(melihat) and anticipating(menantikn) eagerly. They were more than five vultures ready to grab
(memangsa) any victims (korban) from the fight (dari pertarungan).
Realizing(menyadari) the situation, the lion and the pig soon decided (memutuskan) to stop the fighting. They
didn’t even continue the quarrel (pertengkaran) and arguments (perdebatan). “Look at those vultures, they can’t wait
(tidak sabar) to eat our bodies once we die. Let’s just stop fighting.” said the lion to the pig.
“You’re right (ya kamu benar). It’s better(lebih baik) for us to be friends than to be the food of those vultures.
That will certainly(terjadi) happen if we get hurt (terluka) or die.” replied the pig.
