IMORTANT: Save your download link for quick access to future updates.
There are nine (9) separate plugins for TK9: Combo, Cx, Multi-Mask, Export, My
Actions, the My Action tabs 1 through 4. Each has its own installer in the download
folder. Follow the installation directions below for whichever modules you want to
install. It's fine to install all nine. Most people do that.
TK9 will overwrite TK8 in order to allow the user settings from TK8 to transfer to
the corresponding TK9 modules. Also, if you are reinstalling TK9, there is no need
to remove the previous version. The new modules will overwrite the old ones.
Installing the TK9 Modules
1. Open the download folder and find the files with the "ccx" extension.
2. Copy all the files that have a "ccx" extension to the computer's Desktop or to a
new folder on the Desktop.
3. Open Photoshop. This is not strictly required, but doing so will make it easy to
check that the modules are installed as they will show up in the upper left corner of
Photoshop. For Windows users, they show up even if the Photoshop is not the
active application. On Mac, you'll need to make Photoshop the active application in
order for the newly installed modules to appear. NOTE: Do NOT try opening the
installer files with Photoshop.
4. Double-click the ".ccx" file of the module you want to install. The Creative
Cloud Desktop app should open. (See the "Troubleshooting" section below if this
does not happen or if you get an error message.)
5. If you are installing a module for the first time, click "Install" in the "Install
a non-marketplace plugin" window that opens.
-2-
6. If the module (or a corresponding TK8 module) is already installed, click
"Continue" in the "Replace current version?" window.
7. Click "OK" in the "Install…" window that opens.
8. Successful installation will be indicated with a green message in the Creative
Cloud Desktop app.
-3-
9. If the plugin does not open immediately, click on the Plugins menu in Photoshop
to locate the plugin you want to open and click on its name.
10. Set the language. The default
language of each module is English.
If you prefer a different language,
click the fly-out menu in the upper
right corner of each module (the
"hamburger" menu). Then choose
your language by clicking it when
this menu opens.
11. Once installed, the ".ccx" files
and/or the download folder can be
moved off the computer Desktop,
but it's a good idea to save them in
case reinstallation is necessary.

Troubleshooting
1. If there is an error when double-clicking the ".ccx" file:
a) On Mac, right-click the ".ccx" file and choose:
Open With > UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent
Another alternative is to choose Open With > Other… and then navigate to and
choose the file at the end of the following path:
Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Adobe Desktop
Common > RemoteComponents > UPI > UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent >
UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent
NOTE: If you have trouble finding the Macintosh HD, see the "How to find
'Macintosh HD' on Apple computers" section on Page 7.
b) On Windows, right-click the ".ccx" file and choose "Open with…" In the
context menu that opens, scroll to the bottom and click "Look for another app on
this PC." An Explorer window will open. Choose the
"UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent.exe" file at the end of the path below, and then click
"Open."
C: > Program Files > Common Files > Adobe > Adobe Desktop Common >
RemoteComponents > UPI > UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent
>UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent.exe
On Windows, you can also try making sure the "UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent.exe" file
runs as an administrator. To do this, right click on the
"UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent.exe" file name when you get to it and choose
"Properties" from the context menu. Then click on the "Compatibility" tab in the
-6-
window that opens. Click the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox to
toggle it on. Click "Apply" to close the Properties window.

installation-issues.html
2. Make sure the ".ccx" installer files are located on the same hard drive
partition where the Photoshop and Creative Cloud Desktop applications are
installed. This is usually the "C:" drive on Windows and "Macintosh HD" on Mac.
Installation will not occur properly if the ".ccx" installer files are on a different hard
drive or hard drive partition, an external hard drive, or a memory stick/thumb
drive.
3. Make sure the ".ccx" files are NOT still compressed inside the download
.zip folder. Compressed ".ccx" files will likely lead to installation failures. Make
sure the download folder is properly decompressed
4. Try copying the ".ccx files to another location. The Desktop is the first
place to which the ".ccx" files should be copied and then double-clicked it initiate
installation. If that doesn't work, for Mac and Windows, copy the .ccx files directly
into the "Downloads" folder. Then try installing them from there by double-clicking
each of them. Both locations should be tested to see if one works. On Windows,
also try copying the ".ccx" files to the "C:\Temp" folder and then installing from
there.
5. Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app is not up-to-date. The minimum
version of the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app for installing ".ccx" files is version
5.4.1.xxx. To find your version, go to the Help > About Creative Cloud menu in the
Creative Cloud Desktop app. Trying to install ".ccx" files using an older version will
result in an error message.
6. Installation appears to be working but no modules open in Photoshop.
In the Creative Cloud app, go to File > Exit Creative Cloud to shut it down. Then
reboot your computer and open the Creative Cloud app again. Then try double-
clicking a ".ccx" file and see what happens.
7. Or simply close Photoshop and then try installing again while
Photoshop is closed. This has reportedly worked also.
8. Try rebooting the computer.
9. Turn off any virtual private network (VPN) that might be running.
-7-
10. Make sure apps can connect to the internet. The Creative Cloud Desktop
app, which installs the TK9 modules, needs an internet connection to complete TK9
installation. Turn off any firewall that blocks apps from connecting to the internet.
11. Adjust the anti-virus software. Turn it off temporarily or adjust it to allow
the Creative Cloud Desktop app to make changes to your computer.
12. On Windows, clear the "Temp" folder.
a) Click Windows+R.
b) Type "temp" in the box that appears and click "OK."
c) Empty the folder that opens.
d) Try installing again, possibly choosing the "UnifiedPluginInstalleAgent.exe"
program as described above to do the installation.
13. Check "Accessibility" (Mac-only). One Mac user reported the following
adjustment to the computer's "Accessibility" settings was needed to install TK9:
a) Go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Accessibility
b) Hit the "'+" sign and add Creative Cloud Desktop App
c) Reboot the computer and try installing TK9.
14. In some cases, uninstalling and reinstalling the Creative Cloud desktop
app made installation work. This website tells you how to uninstall the Creative
Cloud desktop app: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-
creative-cloud-desktop-app.html.
Windows users can also try uninstalling using the Control Panel under "Programs
and Features."
Once uninstalled, visit the following site to install the Creative Cloud desktop app:
https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-
download.html
15. Uninstall/Reinstall Photoshop using the Creative Cloud Desktop app.
Uninstalling/reinstalling software should be a last resort, but it has been reported to
work for customers who could not install TK9 using the ".ccx" files.
If you continue having problems, please contact me and I'll try to help.

How to find "Macintosh HD" on
Apple computers: On Apple
computers, there is a USER Library and
a SYSTEM library. The SYSTEM Library
is harder to find. It is important to start
at "Macintosh HD" in order to find the
SYSTEM library. If you do not see the
"Macintosh HD" listed on your desktop
or in the Finder sidebar (Apple hides it
by default), here is how to make it
visible.
1. Open Finder.
2. Click the "Finder" menu at the top
and select "Preferences".
3. Click on the "Sidebar" tab.
4. Under "Devices" click the box to
place a check mark next to "Hard
disks" − this puts the "Macintosh
HD" in the sidebar of the Finder
window.
Once you see "Macintosh HD" on the
Finder sidebar, you should be able to
click it and see a "Library" folder. This is
the SYSTEM library and the correct path
to follow to the "extensions" folder
where extension panels are installed.
Macintosh HD > Library > Application
Support > Adobe > CEP > extensions
