PHRASAL VERBS (4/12)
• Break down: romperse. The car broke down in the middle of the road.

• Run away: huir. Why are you running away from me?.

• Look forward (to): estar deseando. Are you looking forward to your
holiday?

• Lock out: quedarse encerrado o no poder entrar. I was locked out


because I didn’t have the key.
PHRASAL VERBS (8/12)
• Walk out: irse de algún sitio de repente. She told me to stay, but she
walked out. How weird!

• Take in: engañar. Tim said he was a police officer, but it wasn’t true. I was
taken in.

• Lie down: tumbarse. I need to lie down for a little bit. My back hurts so
bad!

• Go on: pasar, ocurrir. What’s going on? Do you hear that noise?
PHRASAL VERBS (12/12)
• Put off: retrasar algo. I had to put off the meeting because I was feeling
sick.

• Try on: probarse (ropa). You should try on this jacket! I’m sure it suits you!

• Take up: comenzar. I took up painting because my sister encouraged me


to do so.

• Bring up: criar (un bebé). She brought me up alone, she was very brave.
