Passage
The Power of Solar Energy
Solar energy is one of the most abundant and cleanest sources of energy
available on Earth. It comes from the Sun and is harnessed using solar
panels. These panels convert sunlight into electricity that can power homes,
schools, and even industries.
Solar energy is renewable, meaning it will not run out as long as the Sun
exists. Unlike fossil fuels such as coal and oil, solar energy does not produce
harmful pollution or greenhouse gases, making it environmentally friendly.
Countries around the world are adopting solar power to reduce their
dependence on non-renewable energy sources. Large solar farms have been
set up in deserts and other sunny areas to produce electricity on a large
scale. Some people even install solar panels on their rooftops to meet their
household energy needs.
While solar energy has many advantages, it also faces challenges. For
example, solar panels can be expensive to install, and they do not generate
electricity at night or during cloudy weather. Scientists are working on
solutions like energy storage systems to address these issues.
