what is narative text ?
Narative text is imaginative story to entertain people.
(Teks naratif adalah cerita imaginatif yang bertujuan untuk
menghibur orang)

The purpose of narative text is to amuse or to entertain the
reader with a story.

1. Orientation
Orientation is the initial paragraph wich contains introductions to the
caracters involved in the story.
( orientasi merupakan paragraf awal yang berisi perkenalan tokoh karakter
yang ada di cerita).
2. Complication
Complication is the initial event of story lines which then progress to conflict,
climax and anti-climax.
( komplikasi adalah peristiwa awal di dalam cerita yang kemudian
berkembang menjadi konflik, klimak dan anti klimak).

3. Resolution
Resolution is the final part of the story.
(Resolusi merupakan akhir dari bagian cerita).

past.
(past tense menunjukkan tindakan yang terjadi dan selesai pada waktu tertentu di
masa lalu)

(+) She visited the museum yesterday. (Dia mengunjungi museum kemarin.)
(-) She did not visit the museum yesterday. (Dia tidak mengunjungi museum kemarin.)
(?) Did she visit the museum yesterday? (Apakah dia mengunjungi museum kemarin?)

Past Continuous Tense is used to express
an event or incident that was happening in
the past during a certain time.
(Past Continuous Tense yaitu untuk
menyatakan suatu peristiwa atau kejadian
yang sedang terjadi di masa lalu selama
waktu tertentu).
past continuous tense
Example :
(+) He was traveling to Venice. (Dia dulu sedang berlibur ke Venice.)
(-) He wasn't traveling to Venice. ( Dia dulu tidak sedang berlibur ke Venice)
(?) Was he traveling to Venice ? ( Apakah dia dulu sedang berlibur ke Venice?)

Past perfect tense is used to clarify
that an event occurred before
another event in the past.
(past perfect tense ini digunakan
untuk memperjelas bahwa suatu
kejadian terjadi sebelum kejadian
lain di masa lalu).
past perfect tense
Example :
(+) She had learned to speak Spanish before she went to Spain. (Dia telah belajar
berbicara bahasa Spanyol sebelum pergi ke Spanyol)
(-) She had not learned to speak Spanish before she went to Spain. ( Dia tidak belajar
berbicara bahasa Spanyol sebelum pergi ke Spanyol)
(?) Had she learned to speak Spanish before she went to Spain. ( Apakah dia telah
belajar berbicara bahasa Spanyol sebelum pergi ke Spanyol).

Direct speech is a report of the exact words used by a speaker or writer. Contrast with indirect speech.
Also called direct discourse.”
(Direct speech adalah sebuah kalimat yang langsung disampaikan oleh pembicara tanpa ada perubahan
sama sekali alias apa adanya).
Indirect speech
Indirect speech is a sentence delivered by someone to retell what someone else said in the form of a news
sentence.
(Indirect speech adalah kalimat yang disampaikan oleh seseorang untuk menceritakan kembali perkataan
orang lain dalam bentuk kalimat berita).
