Letter of Intent

Dear Registrar,

Since I was a little girl I have been interested in knitting and making stand-out outfits. I have
been doing theatre most of my life and am generally really interested in the arts. I enjoy
painting, mixed media, taking pictures and also spinning yarn on my drop spindle and weaving
on my rigid heddle loom that I made out of popsicle sticks!

I would like to take the Foundation Visual Arts program to get better at the basics and have a
better understanding of art overall. I would then like to take the textiles program, as that is
where my heart really lies. I might continue on and do the BAA at UNB, but I don’t really know
exactly where my path may take me. I would love to work as a textile designer and open an
online shop. I have also always wanted to teach so I might run some classes online as well, and
do online tutorials.

Right now I am taking grade 12 fashion tech, and I am really good at it. I have been to the
college before during an open house and it just felt like I belong there. I have always kind of
stuck out a bit in school, and I am ready to find new ways to express myself and find a
community of like minded people.
